Following the horrific incident which took place on the train in Cambridgeshire on Saturday, the local Victim and Witness Hub is offering support services to anyone impacted.

We are recruiting for a Care Navigator and/or Prescription Clerk to join our friendly team and support the population of Cambourne.

Care Navigator on a Thursday & Friday specifically however our prescription clerk role can be more flexible in terms of days and cover.

Practice afternoon closure

To ensure our team have the most up to date skills the local commissioners have given ALL Cambridgeshire Practices the opportunity to close once a month to ensure our staff have access to continual development.

Monkfield Medical Practice will therefore be closed today between the hours of 1400 -1800

During this time, please seek support by calling NHS111 or visit their website for further advice and information.
If you during this time you have a life threatening emergency such as:

loss of consciousness
a sudden confused state
fits that are not stopping
chest pain
breathing difficulties
severe bleeding that cannot be stopped
severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
severe burns or scalds
someone has seriously injured themselves or taken an overdose

Today Wednesday 15th October between 2pm & 4pm our telephone lines are on hold. Please attend the practice or submit an enquiry through the contact us button on our website.

We have limited reception cover due to all our staff completing their life support update training to keep you all safe when here at the practice.

If you are able to wait until after 4pm we invite you to do so.

If you have an acute emergency that cannot wait until 4pm you will be transferred to our only receptionist.

Starting on Wednesday, 22 October there's a new Mindful Mums group hosted by our friends at Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind - CPSL Mind starting in .

This FREE group supports mums over the age of 18 with children up to two years of age who may be experiencing low to moderate mental health challenges, offering peer support, friendship and an opportunity to share experiences whilst learning how to support your own wellbeing. You don't have to be a resident of Cambourne to join up - just email perinatalservices@cpslmind.org.uk to register.
