🐾💊Pet Poison Prevention Awareness month 🐾💊

🔒Secure storage: Always store your medication in a secure, locked cabinet - not on countertops or bedside tables where cats can easily reach.

💊Pick up medication: If you drop a pill, find it right away. Cats are quick to pounce on things that roll across the floor.

🔐Keep bottles closed: Make sure all pill bottles are completely closed and locked away.

💊Separate Pet and Human medication: Store your cats medication in a different location and always check the label before giving.

A little extra caution goes a long way in keeping all nine lives safe 😀

❤️To the world, you are a Mother. To your cat, you are their world 🌏

This mother's day, lets keep our furry family safe. While flowers are a classic gift, the most popular blooms such as Lilies are extremely toxic to cats.

Stick to pet-safe bouquets like Orchids and Roses 🌹🌹

🌼🐾March is Pet Poison Prevention Awareness Month! 🐾🌼

As spring approaches, Daffodil's are beginning to bloom, while beautiful they can be dangerous for our furry friends.

If ingested Daffodil bulbs contain crystals that are extremely toxic to cats if eaten.
The heads and leaves can also make your cat unwell if consumed. Daffodils contain a poisonous substance called lycorine. If digested, this can cause stomach upset, vomiting or more serious effects can occur.

If you believe your cat has been in contact with Daffodil's, please contact us or call Pet Poison Helpline.

🦷February is National Pet Dental Health Month 🦷

What is the difference between plaque and tartar I hear you ask?
🦠Plaque: A soft, sticky filmy created by bacteria, which gives us that furry feeling in the morning. The god news? It can be removed with regular brushing.

😺Tartar (calculus): When plaque hardens and calcifies, it becomes tartar. Once it reaches this stages, it cannot be removed by brushing and requires professional veterinary scaling to remove.

💡Prevention is key! Brushing helps stop the plaque from turning into tartar.

It's National Pet Dental Health month and we are talking about all things teeth - What is periodontal disease?
😺Periodontal disease in cats is very common, progressive bacterial infection causing inflammation, pain, and destruction of tooth-supporting structures like gums, bone, ligaments.
😺Affects over 70% of cats by age of two.
😺It starts as plaque-induced gingivitis, progressing to irreversible periodontitis (tooth loss/tissue damage) if untreated.
😺Treatment requires veterinary dental cleaning under anesthesia, potential tooth extractions, and home care.

February is Pet Dental Health Month throughout this month we will be talking about everything Feline dental.
Let's kick start it with a question, how many teeth do cats have?😺 Believe it or not adult cats have 30 teeth - that is almost the same number as humans, we have 32!
Kittens have 26 teeth, we call these deciduous teeth (baby teeth) which emerge from around 3-4 weeks old and they start falling out around 3-4 months old, by the time your cat is around 7 months old they should have all there adult teeth in place.😺

Its National answer your cat's questions day 2026 - We imagine most of our patients are asking:
😻 Can I have more treats please?
😻 Why have you stop cuddling me?
😻Can I jump up on that window ledge?
😻Do I need more flea treatment already?
