We have our Birth and Baby Hub at Saffron Walden this Friday - and then our Hub at Cambridge next week.

We would love to see you at either - come along if you are pregnant, or have a new baby, or just want to meet others. There will be our birth and postnatal doulas and breastfeeding counsellors there, to chat with you and answer your questions. Drop in - it's all free and a great place to have a relaxing chat about birth, babies and the early days of parenting!

A reminder that all our Hubs are completely free drop ins (no need to sign up or reserve a place), where you are WELCOME. You are welcome if you’re newly pregnant or about to birth. You are welcome if your baby is one week old, or one year old. You are welcome if you’re feeling amazing about your pregnancy and postpartum, and you are welcome if you feel like a bundle of anxieties and doubts ❤️

Whatever stage you’re in and however you’re feeling about it, we will be waiting with a cup of tea, a slice of cake, and listening ears 🤗

What a lovely day! We had such a delightful time chatting with local families, answering questions about everything from nursing strikes to due dates, and soaking up the wonderful atmosphere at ☀️🎪

This is such a community gem of Cambridge. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Our Baby Nest is up and ready to provide a quiet spot to stop and feed, rest, and chat with a Doula if you need. We are so excited to be a part of a day with such a long and wonderful history in our community!

And did you know Doulas have their own medieval history in this country? Long before most births took place in hospitals, birth and postpartum was most usually attended by one or more women, who would provide physical support and emotional encouragement (sound familiar? 😉). These women were known as God-sibs, which is where we get the modern word “gossip”!

Do you have questions about your upcoming birth? Looking for help with your sling? Need some breastfeeding support? Or do you just fancy a chat and a cuppa with our friendly team and other local parents? Whatever your reason, our experienced doulas and breastfeeding counsellors have you covered.

👋 Re-meet the Doulas who make The Collective what it is 🫶

We were like rabbits caught in headlights!

That’s a familiar saying but that is how we felt with our first baby. I didn’t even know I should go to antenatal classes. So when baby number 2 came along I felt more empowered and knowledgeable and that made me parent in a calmer way.

This is why I chose to become a doula, to support families through the process of pregnancy and parenting so they feel listened to and empowered. Whatever their circumstances and however they choose to birth. And postnatally have an extra pair of hands to mother the family without the emotional attachment.

Fact about me: I’m a wild swimmer! I love a dip in the river or the sea.
