You may be offered ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic S***m Injection) as part of your IVF treatment if s***m numbers or activity are very low.

While IVF with ICSI follows a similar pattern to standard IVF, the key difference lies in how the eggs and s***m are handled after collection. During ICSI, our expert Embryology team carefully selects mature eggs and injects each one with a single s***m using precise equipment, ensuring every step is tailored to give the best chance of fertilisation.

Fertility treatment is a personal journey, and finding the right option for you is important. That’s why we offer free information sessions where you can discuss your options, meet our team, and get personalised advice for your care plan.

You may be offered ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic S***m Injection) as part of your IVF treatment if s***m numbers and/or activity are very low.

For the most part, your IVF treatment with ICSI will follow the standard pattern. The difference lies in how we handle the eggs and s***m after egg collection.

🔬During standard IVF, we mix the eggs and s***m and incubate them overnight. The hope is that s***m will bind to the egg and a single s***m will pe*****te into the egg, resulting in fertilisation.

🔬During the ICSI technique, our Embryology team will firstly examine your eggs carefully under a microscope to select mature ones. We then inject each mature egg with a single s***m using a microscope and very precise equipment.

Although ICSI fertilisation rates are similar to those achieved with standard IVF, it’s important to have proper advice and a care plan tailored to your individual needs.
