🔷️ OUR EVENING COURSE this week was with the Cambridge Rowers and Cambridge Rowing Club. Sports First Aid Level 3. A very inquisitive and enagaged group all learning the skills to help save life. Required certifications for individual roles and responsibilities.

Lots of focus on CRP and drowning, Basic Life Support unconscious casualty, adult CPR, child CPR, use of defibrillator, dealing with bleeds just some of the criteria covered. Also illnesses recognising and responding to seizure and additionally we covered hypothermia.

🔷️ IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL OUR CLIENTS 🔷️
Following the NEW UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2025, AG First Aid Training will no longer be operating open public 1:1 course training sessions.

We have prided ourselves on being one of the most flexible and accessible operating training centres in our area and continue to support our clients training needs adapting our courses for learner preference and suitability, learning needs and confidence building. THIS WILL NOT CHANGE! As we will continue to offer comfortable small group courses across the range of courses provided.

Our 2026 New Terms and Conditions are now published. With changes to course structure, criteria and delivery we strive to ensure the highest quality of learning of first aid.

Clients who secure their places on their courses are responsible to ensure that the course date booked can be attended. Short notice cancellation affects our provision and subsequently other learners for which as an organisation we take into cared consideration. Short notice cancellation by the client and request to swap course dates will incur an additional cost moving forward. Refunds are not provided shoukd the client no longer be able to continue training once the place is secured.

Lots more information will be emailed directly to all our contracted clients and all are invited to contact us to discuss any queries. PLEASE ALSO NOTE our email address is about to change! We will be contacting everyone in due course about this.

🔷️ IN SEPTEMBER 2025 LAST YEAR the UK Resusciation Council Guidelines were reviewed. There are often changes in First Aid and this is why training providers would remind and encourage First Aiders to keep up to date and refresh first aid learning and skills. This is the First Aiders responsibility.

🔷️ It is not stipulated to complete yearly refreshers in the UK upon any workplace or Paediatric First aid course or qualification. It is recommended as good practice. We have attended our awarding body's 2025 Resus Guidelines Update and we are continuing with further training and updates early into 2026. Awarding bodies and First Aid Training Centres are all now implementing new criteria within courses, including new skills training. AG First Aid Training is committed to ensure the quality assurance within all our training following the Resus Council Guidelines and all of our courses follow and deliver the learning from the new guidance.

🔷️ If you accessed and trained in First aid after September 2025 your training is NOT disregarded or your certificate in-valid. The First Aid changes and information presented now within courses and additional or new criteria, now reflects the first aid practice of the new guidance, and so you may find training providers embedding new training content, information, skills practice and learning, also with new learning equipment and resources.

⚠️‼️🙏 Please remind your young people Cambridgeshire ⚠️‼️🙏

We’ve had reports of young people playing on frozen lakes in the county this afternoon. With the cold weather set to last another couple of days, and for some young people, schools not going back until midweek, please can parents and guardians remind their children of the real dangers of playing on lakes when iced over. The ice may not be as thick as it appears and the water if they fall in will be freezing cold and could send the body into cold shock so they become unable to swim to safety.
If you do see anyone in trouble in the water, dial 999 and provide your What3words location - that way we get get help to you as quickly as possible. Download the What3Words app so you always have it handy and encourage your children too as well.

🔷️ ON A VERY BLUSTERY DAY I VISITED ANOTHER GROUP of amazing Lifesavers today. The Cromer Lifeboat Station RNLI RNLI Cromer This boat is Lester! Lester saved 41 lives this year. Incredible work that the volunteers give of their time to save the lives of others. Total respect!
