Our Routeways to Work customers and staff heard about our Thank-a-thon Day and wanted to have their say. They are so grateful for your generosity.

✨ A Royal Visit to Papworth Trust ✨

What a week it has been. We were truly honoured to welcome our Patron, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester to officially open our South Cambridgeshire Day Opportunities service at Unity Campus in Sawston this week.

Her Royal Highness was welcomed by Brian Stewart OBE, Chair of Papworth Trust, and received a guided tour of our service including Boccia with former GB Paralympian Will Hipwell, whilst meeting customers and staff who are involved in the work of the charity.

Brian Stewart OBE said “We offer our sincere thanks to The Duchess for Her Royal Highness’s continued patronage and interest in the Trust.”

Our customers also shared what the service means to them:
🎤 Sophia: “I love karaoke, sing and sign, and drama. My favourite songs are Dolly Parton’s ‘Islands in the Stream’ and ‘9 to 5’!”
🎨 Lucy: “I like cooking, arts and crafts, and karaoke. I love my time here — the staff are lovely and kind.”

What a joyful day at OWL Bikes today 🚲 A visit from PC Rob Tindell is always welcome but today was phenomenal! Rob took the time to explain and demonstrate each piece of equipment that he uses in his work as Community Police Officer in Cambridge. Routeways to Work participants were given the opportunity of turning on the blue lights and sirens as well as modelling PC Rob’s hats and coats, and even his hand cuffs. Participants were given an invaluable insight into the work of the Police and how they support the local community every day👮

Cambridgeshire County Council is carrying out some improvement works to the paths and cattle grids around Ditton Meadows (including parts of the Chisholm Trail) to make walking and cycling better and ensure that the cows remain in the meadows.

Here’s a summary of the works and diversions which are starting today and will last around four weeks. View and download the map to share with others here:https://www.camcycle.org.uk/images/blog/ChisholmTrail-Diversion2025.pdf
