😊After my class yesterday, one of my class attendees said to me that a friend of his had been advised to have one to one sessions of Pilates in order to rebuild her core muscles.
🙏He explained that, as a result of major surgery to her abdomen, Pilates had been recommended to her as a way of healing and strengthening her core muscles which inevitably have been impacted by the surgery.
✅This client himself had also been recommended to start a Pilates programme after surgery to his prostate and so is well aware of the many benefits of Pilates.
✅He said that he had mentioned to his friend about my classes and how beneficial he has found them since he completed his one to one Pilates sessions that had helped him through his post surgery recovery. He has been attending my classes for the past 3 years and is living his life to the full. 🙏
✅It is refreshing to hear that Pilates is being recommended as a beneficial exercise programme for recovery from major surgery.
🤷♀️I often get asked why I decided to be a Pilates instructor.
😁For me it was a no brainer. I had experienced first hand the benefits of Pilates when I was recovering from a slipped disc.
👍Pilates may be seen as a gentle form of exercise, where you hardly break out into a sweat, but if done properly it helps strengthen your core muscles which are the central part of your body.
👍The core muscles encompass your pelvis, lower back, hips and stomach. Exercising the core means that the muscles will work together in harmony and lead to better balance and stability.
💪Strong core muscles allow you to do every day activities, as well as other sports, more easily and effectively as well as reduce the risk of injury or indeed the risk of falls in later years.
❌Weak core muscles, on the other hand, can lead to poor posture, lower back pain and muscle injuries, as well as potentially increase the risk of falls.
👍This is the reason why I chose to take up Pilates and go on to teach it as well.
✅It is an exercise programme that is suitable for all age groups and, whilst it is low intensity, it works you hard in all the right places.
😂As my clients often say, "I'm working muscles I didn't even know I had!!!"
💥I am so excited to be offering a 6 week programme that will help you lovely 50+ ladies to become stronger, leaner and more flexible for longer.
