🌍💜 World Alzheimer’s Day at Cambridge Manor 💜🌍

We had a truly special day with our residents! 🎉

Our sensory station was filled with wonderful experiences where residents could touch, feel, see, and hear a variety of delights. From tasty little bites to beautiful music playing softly in the background, every moment was designed to engage and inspire.

The fun didn’t stop there – residents also enjoyed a lively balloon tennis session, bringing laughter and smiles all around! 🏓🎈

It was heartwarming to see how much the residents enjoyed the activities, sharing moments of joy, connection, and togetherness.

On this World Alzheimer’s Day, we remember the importance of raising awareness, showing compassion, and supporting those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. 🧠💜

🌟 A huge thank you to the Cambridge Rugby Team for joining us in such a unique and special way here at Cambridge Manor! 🏉💙

It was an absolute delight for our residents to meet some of the players. They especially enjoyed having a go at playing a bit of catch with the rugby ball and watching how the players train — it brought lots of smiles and laughter all around!

We would also like to thank all the teams involved and everyone who participated in making this event so special. 🙏✨

At Cambridge Manor, we strive to build a bridge between our home and the wider community, and we deeply value every connection we make outside the care home. 💫

And this is just the beginning… we’re planning a walk on the rugby pitch very soon — so stay tuned! 👀🏟️

Our residents had a fantastic time visiting Johnson’s of Old Hurst — a day filled with fresh air, friendly animals, and lots of smiles! 🐐🍃

From strolling around the farm and spotting exotic animals to enjoying delicious homemade treats, the visit was a perfect blend of nature, fun, and relaxation. 🍦🦙

It was heartwarming to see our residents connecting with the animals and each other — sharing stories, laughter, and making new memories together. 💚

A big thank you to the team at Johnson’s for their warm hospitality and to our team members for making this day trip possible.

Our culinary session was a real treat! Chef Ravi led an engaging fish fillet workshop, showing residents how to skillfully prepare and fillet a fish. 🎣🍽️

Joining him was nutritionist, who shared valuable insights on the health benefits of including fish in your diet — from heart health to brain-boosting omega-3s! 🧠❤️

Residents loved the hands-on learning, delicious aromas, and expert tips from both our chef and nutritionist. A perfect blend of flavor and wellness! 👏✨

🎶 A Joyful Dementia Choir Session with Jess! 💙🎤

Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Jess to lead our Dementia Choir, and what a wonderful time it was! Her energy and warmth lit up the room, and our residents couldn't help but join in with smiles, singing, and dancing. 💃🕺

Tony, Kathleen, and many others sang along to their favourite tunes and even got up for a little dance with Jess — the joy was truly contagious! 🥰

Moments like these are so special and bring a real sense of connection, happiness, and community. Thank you, Jess, for a beautiful afternoon!

What an incredible trip we had to the Duxford Imperial War Museum! Our residents were full of curiosity and admiration as they explored the rich history on display—from iconic aircraft to powerful wartime stories.

The highlight of the day? The airshow! Everyone was amazed by the sights and sounds in the sky—truly a memorable experience! 💙

Our residents at Cambridge Manor spent a heartwarming day showing their gratitude to the everyday heroes who keep our community safe — our incredible emergency services teams! 🧑‍🚒🚑👮‍♀️

With love and creativity, they handcrafted beautiful thank-you cards and sent them off to local departments as tokens of appreciation. 💌✨

To top it all off, we hosted a cheerful Rescue Rainbow Tea Party in their honor — complete with colorful treats, good company, and heartfelt conversations. 🌈☕🎉
