Tight upper back and neck?

Deep tissue, dry cupping and muscle scraping is the remedy to breakdown all of those knots, adhesion and scar tissue. If this sounds like something you are dealing with get in touch to book your session to relieve all that pain and tight restriction.

Today’s Home visit for

Lisa has been struggling with some serious upper back and trap tension due to her desk based job and consistent strength training. In particular the right side lacking range of motion more pain when moving the arm in most directions.

We had some really good results for a first session improving range of motion and getting rid of any discomfort and niggles when the shoulder joint is being moved.

As you can see the areas that are most dark meant more stagnation in the tissue and lack of blood flow, we used deep tissue, muscle scraping and dry cupping to breakdown the scar tissue and adhesion and deliver some fresh blood, nutrients and oxygen to the area, which will help repair and recover for the affected area.

Dynamic Cupping for Shoulder Pain šŸ’„

As you can see in this video, we are moving the joint whilst the cups are applied.

What it does:
• Helps tissue glide smoothly during movement instead of being restricted
• Restores range of motion faster by combining suction and motion
• Reduces tension without direct pressure on the muscle
• Keeps blood flowing to the area while the joint moves

It addresses tightness and restricted movement at the same time, so the shoulder feels looser and moves easier.

Before vs After: 5 months of progress 🫔

Before : First treatment - 4 months ago resulting in severe redness after muscle scraping. This showed us we were working on an area with real stagnation, scar tissue and poor blood flow. The tissue wasn’t getting the oxygen and nutrients it needed, which is why it felt tight and sore.

After : Most recent treatment - Noticeably less redness. That’s a good thing. It means we’ve broken down the adhesions and scar tissue, and blood flow has improved dramatically. Fresh oxygen and nutrients are now reaching the area properly.

What this means for you
Less redness = better circulation = tissue that moves and feels better. My client’s been telling me she feels looser day to day and the soreness that used to hang around is easing off.

Muscle scraping isn’t about ā€œmaking it redā€ for the sake of it. The redness is just feedback. Our goal is to get to the point where we don’t need much of it at all because the tissue is healthy and flowing.

This is what consistency + the right treatment looks like.

Another fly on the wall for one of my corporate clients, rolling out some chair treatments catering for all those in office based/hospitality industry’s.

I do offer either soft or deep tissue treatment for this clinic. Unfortunately, if you want the most out of this appointment deep tissue will give you the most relief, but what comes with that is discomfort, this is good news believe it or not!

The more tender the area means the more tension and adhesion in the tissue. Basically, pain and discomfort means we are hitting areas in most need of release.

šŸ”„ Muscle scraping explained šŸ”„

When the skin turns red during muscle scraping, it’s a good sign. The redness shows we’ve created tiny micro-tears in the capillaries, which usually happens where there’s old scar tissue, adhesions, or areas that haven’t had good blood flow for a while.

That redness means fresh blood is getting to the tissue again. If an area hasn’t had great circulation, it’s also been missing out on oxygen and nutrients. These spots tend to feel more uncomfortable to work on, but as we break down the restrictions the blood flow improves and it gets easier each time.

First treatment for today. After suffering a tear in his quad around 5 months ago due a football injury, there was some significant tension in the opposite leg due to overcompensating. We got some pretty dark colour come through from scraping and cupping meaning restricted blood flow and stagnation in the tissue.

He felt instantly relieved and had much more range of motion post treatment šŸ«¶šŸ¼šŸ«”

As per one of my previous posts regarding cupping and what the discolouration means, In this case the areas treated were suffering with some pretty bad stagnation, meaning lack of blood flow to the area.

In this session we managed to deliver some fresh blood, nutrients and oxygen to the area which in return will help repair and heal the affected tissue.
