He taught me to shoot and took the Queen fishing.
It is with regret I have to say that “Ma Friend” Bill Martindale passed away in hospital surrounded with the thing he loved the most - his family, on Sunday 9th January.
Bill also known as Widdy was 81, he came from Carradale and started his job as Fishery Manager at the Lake in 1968 when the fishery was in its infancy and was here for 30 years. Everyone was greeted with hello “Ma friend” and he always had a smile on his face. I don’t think I ever heard him say anything bad about anyone.
He was probably his happiest up in the hills, with his gun and dogs.
Our thoughts are with Maisie and his family.
