You wouldn’t talk to your best friend like sh #@.

So why do you talk to yourself like it?

You wouldn’t call her stupid for making a mistake.
You wouldn’t tell her she’s weak for having a bad day.
You wouldn’t brush off her achievements or say she’s not that good.

But you do it to yourself.
In your own head, or even out loud.
Over and over again.

That voice in your head is fear pretending to keep you safe.
It’s exhausting, and it keeps you stuck in a vicious cycle.

Liking yourself isn’t arrogance.
It’s self-respect.
It’s recognising you’re human.
It’s giving yourself the compassion you give to everyone else.

What’s been good this week?

Not perfect. Not productive. Just good.

It’s so easy to rush from one thing to the next juggling work, family and life goals without pausing to notice the small wins that actually keep us moving forward.

For me this week, it’s been:

🌳 Getting outside for a few head-clearing walks feeling the wind against my face

🌻 Finally pressing publish on my Courage & Confidence Kit

🥰 Receiving such a lovely message from a new client about renewed hope after her breakthrough session with me.

When you take the time to look back over the good things, you realise that it was actually a really wonderful week, even if it felt like a whirlwind.

Courage doesn’t always look like jumping out of a plane.
And yes, I’ve done that (twice!).

My most courageous moments were the quiet ones.

Believing in myself to step into the unknown, trusting I could bounce back if things didn’t work out and learning to swap self-criticism for self-compassion.

Those moments felt scarier and harder to push through… yet the rush afterwards was just the same.

That’s where real confidence is built. 🌻

And I’ve seen the same to be true for so many of my clients. 🌻

The Job Search Rollercoaster 🎢

Last night I delivered a webinar with Jenny Maxwell from dnevo Partners covering the emotional and mindset aspects of job searching.

We explored:
✨ Why the job search can trigger self-doubt and stress
✨ How the brain responds to rejection and uncertainty
✨ Practical ways to stay resilient, calm, and confident through the ups and downs

The engagement and feedback was brilliant, it really highlighted just how much people need support not just with CVs and applications, but with the mindset to keep going.

Autumn is well on the way 🍁🍂

I absolutely love it.

It’s bright, bold and it makes me feel instantly lighter and happier whenever I put it on.

What’s your most cringe-worthy interview moment?

Here’s mine…
It was 2009, my very first graduate interview was with the NHS.

I was thrilled to have made it through the application stage and was at a stadium in Birmingham for my first face-to-face interview.

I was young, fresh faced and eager to please.

It was going fine, until… I compared myself to Monica from Friends (still no idea where that came from). Then what followed is a blur.....

At the end they asked, “Is there anything else you’d like to add?”

I confidently replied, “I like the NHS”… and stopped.

Expectant faces stared back, waiting for me to finish my bold statement. I just sat there. Done.

The good news? I didn't beat myself up about it and put it down to a funny story to tell.

I went through a few more interviews, learned from each one, and finally bagged a job before I’d even fully graduated.

Ironically, that job was at the Jobcentre helping other people find jobs, which I absolutely loved!

I wish I’d thought of it first…

But as soon as I saw it, I felt it in my heart:
Regulate to Accelerate.

This phrase flashed up on an Instagram story the other night.

I used to think success meant promotions, praise, and ticking the next box.

Now it means calm, joy, and being proud of how I show up, for myself and others.

This notebook was a gift from my very first client.

It spoke to me in a way that said, “You’re on the right path.”

I used to be:
– Rushing to achieve more, faster
– Seeking approval and comparing myself
– Afraid to slow down in case it all fell apart

Now I’m:
– Making space for what truly matters
– Trusting myself and the process
– Creating impact from a place of ease

The change?
From proving myself → to being myself

Would you believe me if I told you the person in this photo was dealing with crippling anxiety?

The thing is, I didn’t even know I was in survival mode for all those years until it debilitated me. That constant state of heightened anxiety just felt normal. So normal, in fact, that when there wasn’t anything to feel anxious about, I’d go looking for something. That was just how life felt. I thought I'd moved forward in my life but I'd actually developed some really bad coping mechanisms that had actually made my mental health worse.

For the longest time, I thought that was just who I was. But it wasn’t.

That’s why I created a simple self check-in — to help others who might be feeling the same way but don’t quite have the words for it yet.

If you’ve ever said things like:
“I’m just a worrier,”
“It takes me ages to fall asleep,”
“My mind never switches off,”
“I always overthink everything,”
“I just don’t deal well with stress,”
“I thought everyone felt like this,”
“I’m just not good at relaxing,”
“I can’t remember the last time I felt truly calm,”
“This is just who I am,”
