Step Into Spring with Healthy Feet 👣
March is finally here, and as we swap boots for lighter shoes and spend more time outdoors, it’s the perfect time to give your feet a little extra care.
As a Foot Health Practitioner, I often see the effects winter has had on feet — dry heels, thickened skin, fungal infections and nail problems. The good news? A little attention now can prevent bigger problems later.
🌼 Spring Foot Care Tips
✔️ Choose supportive footwear
Flip-flops and flimsy sandals may feel freeing, but they can lead to heel pain and plantar fasciitis. Support matters!
✔️ Moisturise daily
Winter leaves many heels cracked and dry. A good quality foot cream used regularly makes a huge difference.
✔️ Check your nails
Trim straight across to help prevent ingrown toenails.
✔️ Increase activity gradually
As walking and gardening increase, avoid sudden spikes in activity to reduce strain and injury.
✔️ Spring clean your shoes
Replace worn-out trainers, disinfect footwear, and rotate pairs where possible.

👩⚕️ If You Have Diabetes
Daily foot checks are essential. Look for cuts, colour changes, swelling or temperature differences — and never ignore small issues. Early treatment prevents complications.

• Heel or arch pain
• Thickened or discoloured nails
