I just wanted to say a big thank you.

I’ve had a pretty mad week -. It’s been cold, dark, and wet; my body’s been hurting; the car’s acting up; nothing seemed to go right no matter how hard I tried - you know the kind of week I mean. I started slipping into that monkey-mind chatter, convincing myself that nothing would change, that I’d always feel like this, that things just weren’t going to get better.

Then last night, I did a reading for a beautiful soul. As we talked, I watched her begin to see her situation in a much more positive light. The Runes and I could clearly see the bravery and courage it took for her to step away from expectations that didn’t align with her long-term happiness. It was a viewpoint that simply hadn’t occurred to her until then.

And in that moment, I received a much-needed reminder of why I love what I do. I gained just as much, maybe even more, from that reading, and I’m genuinely grateful.

That’s not to say I don’t feel that same gratitude and admiration for my Runes after every reading - I absolutely do. But last week, I’d somehow forgotten most of who I am. I’d allowed my own fear and negativity to take hold, and the Runiverse stepped in to remind me, once again, that things really can turn out better than we ever thought possible.

They also gave me a little nudge to practice what I preach… 😉

This lovely review came from a reading I did for a beautiful soul a few months ago. But I want to share something from a more recent session. After her reading, a woman thanked me and asked her friend if she’d like one too. Her friend replied with something like, “No, I don’t fancy getting told off today.”

Here’s the thing - it’s never about being “told off.” It’s about taking accountability.

I don’t do fortune-telling. I’m not here to tell you how to live your life, make choices for you, or predict when your soulmate will appear. My readings guide you inward - toward understanding what no longer serves you, what you may need to invite in or to release, and what shifts can support you as you move towards your goals.

It’s about helping you see the path for yourself, not choosing it on your behalf. That way, your growth continues long after our conversation ends.

I thought I’d do something a little different today and share a photo of myself! This is me all set up at Whitstable Castle which is one of the very first venues I ever read at, and a place I hope to return to for as long as they’ll welcome me.

It occurred to me that I’ve been a bit faceless online, hidden behind the mystery of “Rav3n Runes” - a persona that could be anyone speaking into your life, supporting your journey, and cheering you on as you chase your dreams.

So, here I am. I’m Dawn. I’ve been reading Runes for several years now, and I absolutely love what I do. I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many strong, beautiful, incredible people - most of whom don’t realise just how truly remarkable they are.

Raidho (ᚱ) is the rune of the journey both the outer journey, like a physical trip, and the inner journey that reflects your life’s unfolding path. It symbolises progress, movement, and personal growth.

You’re actively moving toward a goal. You’ve set things in motion, you’re pursuing your dream with everything you have, and you’re exactly where you need to be. Your momentum is strong and nothing is holding you back, and that’s incredible.

But once you reach that goal, will you immediately rush into the next? What might you be overlooking while your focus is so narrow? Are you noticing the everyday beauty around you? Are you making space for yourself and the people who matter? The moments you’re passing by now - can you truly return to them later?

Perthro (ᛈ) is one of the least understood runes in the Elder Futhark and its meaning continues to be debated among scholars, even today. Possibilities include a dice cup used in games, a vessel or container, and symbols of chance, luck and fate.

Lady Luck and fate are two concepts that feel almost contradictory. Did an event occur because the Norns wove it into your destiny, or did Lady Luck simply smile on you? While the way the Runes fall can offer more clarity, the difference between destiny and randomness makes it a true paradox.

As a Rune reader, I am guided by the message that needs to be shared - whether Perthro is keeping hidden influences to herself, to reveal at the right moment, or whether a part of her wisdom has already been shown to you.

Hagalaz (ᚺ) the rune of hail and sudden natural forces, represents destruction and upheaval that ultimately leads to transformation.

At its core, Hagalaz reminds us that destruction can be a doorway to profound change. By acknowledging and working with the energy of this rune, we can turn sudden challenges into opportunities to discover new perspectives, behaviours, and possibilities. Hagalaz teaches that growth often comes when we allow life’s storms to clear the old, making space for the new.

How often have you stayed in a job, knowing that it no longer fulfils you? How often have you stayed in a relationship knowing that it’s not right for you? Hagalaz is the energy of a Universe that recognises your importance and shakes things up on your behalf. And you might not like it.

How you respond to this energy can determine how you move forward. Instead of trying to recover what you’ve lost, why not look around and see where the new growth is? What can you do today with what you now have? There are opportunities everywhere that you would not have seen if Hagalaz had not torn down the massive fences that had been blocking your view.

Eihwaz (ᛇ) is associated with the yew tree, which is known for its strength, longevity, and association with both death and rebirth. The yew tree, sacred in Norse and Celtic traditions, thrives in the paradox of life and death. Its branches grow from the decay of its own trunk, embodying continuity beyond endings.

Eihwaz teaches that to be able to move forward in life, a form of death needs to occur. Releasing that which no longer serves you means acknowledging that certain patterns, relationships, or self-perceptions have completed their purpose. Holding onto them only creates resistance and stagnation.

When something ends it’s easy to interpret it as loss or failure. But if we are willing to learn more about ourselves, then Eihwaz reframes that belief by showing us that endings are gateways into our deeper truth and authenticity. If you look closer, you’ll see that each loss strips away illusion and invites you to truly see who you are when all pretences fall away.

Eihwaz doesn’t shield you from change, it will encourage you to examine closely who you were before and who you are now becoming because of the shifts taking place. It can be an incredibly uplifting experience if you allow it to be.

Gebo teaches that generosity is sacred - but so are boundaries. In a world where giving is often glorified and receiving can feel selfish, Gebo reminds us that balance is a spiritual practice. Give authentically, but always honour your own energy and limits. Never give simply because it is expected of you.

Responsibility belongs to everyone and when we give too much, we can unintentionally take away another’s chance to learn, grow, and find their own strength. Others need the space to experience their own lessons, walk their own path and live authentically.
