Canterbury college 7-8pm
- Friday 25th Feb
- Friday 4th March
- Friday 11th March
- Friday 18th March

Chartham Village Hall 7-8pm
- Monday 28th Feb
- Monday 7th March
- Monday 14th March (no class- hall in use)

For those of you with class passes, you can continue to book in and use these as normal over the next few weeks.
https://www.yoga-for-all.uk/bookings/
For those of you who have bought a class pass within the last few months, any outstanding classes after Friday 18th March will of course be reimbursed. Please get in touch to request a refund within six weeks of the last class (before the end of April 2022).

Aside from my group classes, I am still available for one-to-one classes in the Canterbury and nearby surrounding areas. So, if you are looking to develop your yoga practice, are new to yoga and don't quite feel ready for a group class, or have specific areas you would like to develop this may be for you. All one-to-one classes are held within the comfort of your own home with all mats, blocks and bolsters supplied. Please get in touch for further details 🙂

Finally, I would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has attended a class with Yoga for All Canterbury recently, especially with the ongoing uncertainty of a global pandemic! I will definitely miss your lovely faces each week and hope to see you all again in the near future.

Stacey ☺️🙏

How is your January going? Can you believe we are almost at the end of the month already?! 😱
Yoga is a great way to slow things down and focus on the present moment, helping us to appreciate the smaller things and find some clarity amongst the fast pace of daily life.

Join us on Mondays and Fridays 7.00-8.00pm for some Hatha yoga and relaxation 🥰

Beginners, inflexible, out of practice, achey, creaky, old and young all welcome! Yoga will meet you where you are, all you need is the intention.

🎄🎄🎄 Well that's a wrap for 2021!!🎄🎄🎄

We have now finished yoga classes for this year. I would like to say a huge thank everyone who has come to a class since we restarted in August, whether you have come along just once, every week, or somewhere in between.

Its still a strange ol' time with covid, so every person that chooses to attend a class with me really does mean a lot. Be reassured that I take every measure possible to keep people safe during in-person classes, and classes next year will continue to have these measures in place, including reduced numbers, thorough cleaning and good ventilation.

Here's to a happy and healthy Christmas to all, and I'll see you in 2022 🥳

Provisional class dates before Christmas are:

🎄Monday 29th November (Chartham village hall)
🎄Monday 6th December (Chartham village hall)
🎄Monday 13th December (Chartham village hall)

🎄Friday 3rd December (Canterbury college)
🎄Friday 10th December (Canterbury college)
🎄Friday 17th December (Canterbury college)

Inevitably, as we approach the Christmas period, class numbers tend to go a little quieter. If there is enough interest I will continue with these dates as planned, however if classes are quiet I will plan to finish earlier and resume in the New Year.
With this in mind, I would be really grateful if you are able to provide an idea of whether you are planning to attend of the classes before Christmas. This will help me to plan room bookings and meet everyone's preferences as best as I can. You can let me know here:

ALTERNATE NOSTRIL BREATHING (NADI SHODHANA)

In this practice the fingers and thumb on one hand are used to open and close the left and right nostril, controlling the flow of breath, alternating in and out of each side.

Over the next few weeks we will be using a variation of the alternate nostril breathing practice in classes.

The translation of this is breathing practice (or pranayama in Sanskrit) is channel (nadi) purification (shodhana), meaning to purify or clear the channels of the subtle and physical body.

This practice helps to increase awareness of the breath moving through the nostrils, both on the left and right sides. From a physical perspective, it helps to remove minor blockages from the nostril and to help balance the flow of breath.
From a neurological perspective, it is thought that breathing through the left nostril tends to activate the right side of the brain, and breathing through the right nostril activates the left hemisphere.
Psychologically, the elongated balanced breath also begins to have a calming effect on the nervous system, helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
On an energetic level, this breathing practice also helps to balance the different energies (prana) throughout the body; the passive, introvert, feminine energy (ida in Sanskrit)) and the active, extrovert, masculine energy (pingala). When the left nostril has a grater flow of air the ida nadi is predominant. When the flow is greater in the right nostril, pingala is predominant. Alternate nostril breathing aims to balance both sides.

We will also be using that awareness of the left and right sides as we move through poses that focus on the shoulders and hips throughout the class.

Got it? Still confused? Give it a go in class and see what you notice on your left and right side.
