Hopefully the young man, the victim will not be placed in an Assessment & Treatment Unit, that's where commissioners pay 4K a week for people to receive no apparent assessment or treatment and are often abused. Sometimes I think that our current understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorders is nearer to the start of its journey than the end. having a learning disability reduces your life expectancy by 15 years. Yes, in 2021, in the UK. LeDer are doing some great work to identify why and there annual report is here. https://www.england.nhs.uk/publication/university-of-bristol-leder-annual-report/ Yes I know one of the causes is private 'Assessment and treatment units' who are paid £1000 a day (yes a thousand pounds a day) to provide care that is so poor it kills people.
