😣 Shoulder pain when reaching overhead? It might be impingement. Here’s what you can do! 💪

Shoulder impingement happens when the space between the top of your shoulder blade (acromion) and the rotator cuff narrows, causing pain during movement — especially when lifting your arm, reaching behind your back, or sleeping on your side.

🔎 Common signs:
• Sharp pain lifting your arm above shoulder height
• Discomfort reaching behind you (e.g. putting on a coat)
• Weakness or stiffness in the shoulder

✅ What can help:
1. Posture reset – Try sitting tall and opening up the chest. Slouching narrows the joint space even more.
2. Strengthen the rotator cuff – Controlled rehab exercises build support and reduce impingement.
3. Mobilise the shoulder blade – Healthy shoulder blade movement = less strain on the joint.
4. Modify your movement – Avoid painful overhead lifting for now and try lower, pain-free ranges.
5. See a physio – Early guidance makes a huge difference in recovery time and avoiding chronic issues.
