LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE - BOOK NOW

Our Core Control Pilates Classes are ideal for beginners or as part of a recovery program.

The classes provide a basic level of exercise and are the ideal platform to start your Pilates journey. Each series runs for 6 weeks to gain the most from your muscles. The classes benefit people with a variety of different injuries and conditions. The ultimate goal is for each participant to obtain independent Core Control, with an understanding of their body, fluid movement, and how to control weak areas. This then enables safe independent exercise at home and progression to advanced levels of physical activity, whilst engaging the correct muscles.

If you would like to register for the next class series, please email admin@traceymilesphysio.com or call 01304 813408.

🩻Wanting a scan first makes sense. It feels like it should give the answers!

But scans don’t always explain pain, and they often show things that aren’t actually the problem 🤷

What matters more is how your body is functioning 🏃

How you move.
What triggers it.
What your body can tolerate right now.

That’s what guides treatment.

If a scan is needed, we’ll explain why in detail to help you understand the reasoning for it.

If you’re unsure what to do next, message or contact us for a discussion 👇

Even physios get injured too… 😅
Kelly – one of our physios – has recently injured her foot while training for a HYROX event. It’s a great reminder that when training intensity increases, so can the risk of injuries and those small “ni**les” that start to creep in.
When you’re building towards a competition or pushing your performance, it’s easy to ignore the early warning signs your body gives you. But pain, tightness, and fatigue are often signals that your body needs a bit more care and attention.
A few key things to remember when training hard:
🏃‍♀️ Listen to your body – Small aches can quickly turn into bigger injuries if ignored. Early management is always better than being forced to stop completely.
🥗 Nutrition matters – Fueling your body properly helps with muscle repair, energy levels, and overall recovery.
💧 Hydration is key – Dehydration can impact performance, recovery, and increase the risk of muscle issues.
😴 Prioritise rest and recovery – Recovery days are just as important as training days. Your body adapts and gets stronger when it has time to recover.
Training smart doesn’t mean training less — it means training better.
If you’re dealing with a ni**le or injury, don’t ignore it. Getting advice early can help keep you moving and prevent a small issue becoming a big problem

🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍➡️ With marathon season fast approaching, and those participating hitting the crucial parts of their training programme, this might hit home for some of you!

Pain on the outside of the knee is something a lot of runners deal with. It’s often caused by ITB (Iliotibial band) syndrome and the advice people get is usually the same.
Stretch it.
Foam roll it.
Rest.

But the real issue is often how much load the knee and hip are dealing with. Changes in training, mileage, speed work, or hills can push things past what the body is ready for.

That’s why treatment usually isn’t about attacking the IT band itself. It’s about looking at the bigger picture:

👉🏻Training load.
👉🏻Strength around the hip and knee.
👉🏻How your body handles impact when you run.

When those pieces improve, the knee usually settles too. If you run and have been experiencing this, comment below and let’s start your journey to recovery! 🙌🏻

Pain during s*x is not normal and you shouldn’t have to ignore it.

It can be caused by things like lack of lubrication, stress, infections, or pelvic floor tension.

A Pelvic health Physiotherapist can help assess and treat the underlying cause so s*x doesn’t have to hurt.
Your comfort matters. If s*x hurts, it’s okay to talk about it and seek help. 💜

🦵🏻If you are suffering with Knee or Hip osteoarthritis and have been told the next stage is surgery, please listen on and consider this!

Apos () is a treatment involving the use of specially calibrated footwear, that are worn for up to 1hr per day. These shoes are designed to change the forces going through your joints, whilst also encouraging increased muscle work to improve joint stability. Combined, this can have a fantastic effect in reducing joint pain, improving mobility and ultimately avoiding the need for surgery 🙌🏻

All for 1hr of wear a day whilst you go about your regular activities! ⏰

If you or someone you know may benefit from this, then please message us to arrange a FREE assessment for suitability and to learn more about how it works.

Balance matters — it is often a forgotten component of training/rehabilitation, but is vital to help prevent injuries, improve movement control, and maintain your confidence whilst active 👌

Here are 3 single-leg based balance exercises, getting progressively more difficult, you can use to improve your balance and joint stability. These are great for the latter stages of recovery after an Ankle sprain or Knee ligament injury!🦵

Give these a go and let us know how you get on in the comments below! 👇
