You say you’re “just a bit snappy lately.”
That it’s the kids, the emails, the traffic.
That your patience is thin. Your fuse, short.
But truthfully?
You’ve been living on the edge for a while now.

You finally sit down.
You could get an early night. Or open that book. Or have that bath.
But somehow… you’re just there.
Phone in hand. Screen glowing.
Scrolling.

Not because you’re fascinated.
Not because it’s fun.
You’re not even really taking anything in.
Just one more reel. One more swipe. One more minute.

Part of you knows it’s not helping.
But the alternative—feeling what’s under the surface—
that’s not easy either.
