Thrive in Action: Building Confidence, One Step at a Time
At Thrive Homecare we support people of all ages who need a little extra help to live well, build confidence and thrive. Anita* enjoys four hours of companionship each week to help her live independently. Together we support her with cooking and eating well, maintaining her home, getting out and about, and more recently exploring opportunities for part time work.
On a recent visit, Anita met her companion at the station and suggested a walk while it was still light. With the mild weather on their side, they enjoyed a short local walk, chatting along the way about the past few days.
Back at her flat, there were clear signs of progress. The kitchen was noticeably tidier than usual and she had begun organising the bedroom. Together they sorted the space, putting fresh sheets on the bed, folding clothes, organising the wardrobe and pairing up socks. Anita was delighted with how the room looked afterwards.
The visit ended with a puzzle game that involved arranging coloured balls into the correct order. At first Anita said she could not do it, but with encouragement she gave it a try. After a little patience and a few laughs she solved it herself. The sense of accomplishment was clear.
Moments like these show how relationship-centred care & support can make a real difference. From building practical skills and confidence, to creating space for laughter, conversation and small achievements that brighten the day.
