This page represents both Seniors Helping Seniors UK's head office and the first Seniors Helping Seniors office in the UK, Canterbury and Thanet. Our head office can be reached by phone on 01227 467368, the number listed on this profile is for the Canterbury office. Every one of our carers is an experienced older person. As the name says, our Seniors help other Seniors. We have retired and semi-retired nurses, carers, palliative care nurses, social workers, teachers, home helps, drivers, painters and decorators, gardeners, cooks, musicians, journalists, doctors, scientists, professors, office workers, accountants you name it..mums, dads, grandparents, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, all ready to help you or the elderly person you love. Our carers have one thing in common, they are all loving, giving, caring, compassionate people. They have many of the same life experiences as the people they are helping and they are all 'experts by experience' who enjoy caring. We know every carer very well and all our efforts revolve around improving the later years to keep people out of crisis and out of acute hospital processes. Seniors Helping Seniors company trains, checks, insures, inspires and enables our carers to give help. When help is provided by a person near in age to the person they are caring for, there is a unique work ethic, and a special bond. The BBC said, Seniors Helping Seniors is a unique type of Elderly Care Service. We really know about ageing and this page brings together people experiencing ageing to share ideas, make suggestions and offer tangible help and respite care. Services range from an hour's housework to live-in home help and we provide support to friends and family who care for their loved ones. Because our carers have a broad range of talents and interests we make great matches every time. Our aim is to have care provided by the same person. We can accommodate special interests, special language and cultural needs as well. Our professional service has a special can-do mission. Our processes give peace of mind and we aim to make everything as easy as possible. We can provide specialist care for those living with Dementia; Parkinson's; Cancer; Diabetes; MS and more. We can help with whatever life throws out. All our care is non-medical. We work in support of medical and personal care professionals. We are an award winning social venture and we are allied to the key players shaping care in the community for the future. We are champions for the Living Wage foundation and 2021 award winners for leadership in the care sector. We are here to make a difference.

I had excellent communication with Sally Wilse from the start of contact. The request was for a companion to visit a client of mine at a Care Home. An on-site visit was arranged quickly and an assessment of the situation was acquired. Sally and her colleagues provided 1-1 support twice a week which worked very well and the set up of the support was very quick which was great. The companion support is currently on hold whilst the client is at her own home for a respite period to assess whether she can remain at her long terms with a care package, if she can, then I would have no hesitation in engaging the services of the companions again to provide consistency in care.

When you're living in another country and the carer supporting your father lets the office know "he's a little more confused than usual and his voice sounds strange."

Aren't you relieved to hear that at 6.30 in the evening, the company arranges emergency cover to extend the care visit to call 911 for the client and to see their advice through? The carer who raised the concern could only stay a short while, so the office arranged for another regular carer to re-route, and take over.

The next day aren't you relieved to be told that the company has already called the GP because, although there's no emergency, "things are a bit off"
Again carers stay with the client to handle the GP's phone call.

Blood tests are ordered by the GP as a next step.
When the Carer books to have the blood tests taken she's told "No appointments until 6th Feb!"

Aren't you relieved to be told that the company doesn't take no for an answer and
they have sourced an online blood test form (sent to the carers mobile) She completes the forms and books to go to Kent and Canterbury phlebotomy dept with the client straight away.

When we say we care, this is what care can look like. This is the team you could join!
Please get in touch on 01227 454 900

Thank you to our amazing team who knows what "a bit off" looks and sounds like ❤️ Thank you to our office team for organising and keeping family up to date ❤️ and thank you to our carers for always stepping up ❤️
