At London Women's Clinic, we understand that the path to parenthood isn't always straightforward, and we recognise the profound challenges individuals can face when trying to start a family. For 35 years, we've committed ourselves to supporting thousands of patients as they navigate their fertility journeys, and we continue to do so today.

Whether you're looking to grow your family or preserve your fertility for the future, the best place to start is by assessing your current fertility status.

👩‍⚕️This National Fertility Awareness Week, we're offering reduced cost Fertility MOTs across all of our sites - to those who book and confirm a consultation between the working week of 30 October and 3 November (your consultation does not need to fall within this week itself). Please get in touch with our enquiries team using the link in our bio for further information and T&Cs.

🔍 Undertaking a comprehensive fertility assessment is the initial stride toward a more informed path. It's about empowerment through knowledge. Together, we'll explore your options and discuss possible pathways ahead.

Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) is the commonest endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age, affecting approximately in one in seven women, *although the worldwide prevalence of PCOS ranges from 4-21%, depending on the diagnostic criteria used.

Not everyone with PCOS will have the same experience with the condition, and symptoms will vary in individuals, with some experiencing no apparent symptoms and others facing multiple, including fertility complications. While many women with PCOS can still conceive and have healthy pregnancies, at London Women's Clinic, we're on hand to support and advise those who may require additional assistance or advice on navigating the condition. Our team of experts understand the complexities of PCOS and specialise in providing personalised fertility treatment options tailored to your specific needs.

After a Fertility MOT to thoroughly evaluate your fertility, our experts may advise:

🏃 Lifestyle modifications e.g. healthy diet, regular exercise, activities to help manage stress levels

💊Ovulation induction - stimulating the ovaries with medication to promote regular ovulation

💉IUI or IVF

⚕️Additional medication to help improve insulin resistance or reduce the risk of developing ‘Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome’ (OHSS) and prevent miscarriages

If you have been diagnosed with PCOS and are concerned about your fertility, we encourage you to schedule an MOT

Our greatest joy is helping people understand their fertility better and achieve their family dreams. The heartwarming words of our incredible patients, like this beautiful review of our Harrow clinic, help fuel our commitment to providing world-class fertility care across the UK.

"...Ana-Maria, the ace administrator at Harrow, always has a bright smile and encouraging words, and the nursing team, Lauren and Erin, are very caring, patient and explain things clearly (there's a lot to get your head around!). Dr Gill was absolutely determined to help us realise our dream of a family and under her and Dr Goswami's care that dream has come true."

We are delighted to share the remarkable news that six of our patients have gone on to have a second child from their original egg collection with us.

“After their initial egg freezing, crucial to their family plans was having a number of surplus healthy embryos in freeze storage. And a few years later, all six had these frozen embryos thawed and transferred in a further pregnancy attempt. So far, five of the six have had a second healthy birth, with the sixth in the midst of an ongoing pregnancy with a live birth due very soon. Just as significantly, three of the six still have more embryos in storage, with the possibility of a further transfer and pregnancy, if so desired. And all from just one cycle of egg collection to preserve fertility.”

Their journeys demonstrate the success that egg freezing can potentially bring to women and shows us that ultimately egg freezing ambitions need not be limited to just one baby.

Mimi A***n Schad is our Director of Nursing and HFEA Person Responsible for all of our London satellite clinics. Having been with us since 2005, Mimi has treated hundreds of patients and diligently leads our surrogacy service at London Women's Clinic.

As came to a close, we asked Mimi for her thoughts on our surrogacy service:

“We are very proud to offer our individual services tailored to the needs of our patients, as we’re aware how diverse the scenarios faced by intended parents can be. We have worked with many surrogates and intended parents over the last 12 years, and 2023 marks the year of the 100th baby born following surrogacy support at London Women’s Clinic. I take pride in the fact our team encompasses a diverse range of international staff who offer help and guidance to all.

As the largest clinic in the UK to have a s***m and egg bank with online catalogues, we empower our patients to choose their donor themselves but happily provide support in donor matching if required.”

Surrogacy is a very personal and sensitive journey for everyone involved. Our extensive research into surrogates and intended parents helps us to continually streamline our services into a smooth and comprehensive journey for anyone wishing to follow gestational or traditional surrogacy treatments. Collaborating closely with our sister clinics, London S***m Bank Group and London Egg Bank, we're able to offer donor s***m or donor eggs for any intended parents wishing to use them as part of their treatment.

Ensuring your treatment during surrogacy is positive, individual, informed and inclusive remains our utmost priority, and we'll continue to develop our pathway as the law transitions.
