From All-or-Nothing… to Finding Balance That Lasts. 💪

When Chris first joined me, he wasn’t comfortable in his body.
He’d been through the cycle so many men know too well: lose weight, gain it back… repeat.

The biggest hurdle?
That all-or-nothing mindset that left him stuck whenever life got busy or motivation dipped.

After graduating from The Ultimate Transformation Academy earlier this year, Chris realised he needed more than just a short-term plan. He needed accountability, structure, and a system he could actually live with, so he rejoined.

In the past, the gym felt inconsistent, nutrition felt restrictive, and results never lasted.

Celebrating this client journey 🏆

Today I have been messaging this incredibly impressive woman, reflecting on the achievements and planning this next week ahead for a work trip.

When she first reached out, she felt stuck. Her confidence had taken a hit, she didn’t feel comfortable in her own skin, and she was overwhelmed about where to start. She described herself as “unfit,” frustrated with weight gain, and constantly tired. Like many, she’d tried different programmes in the past but nothing really stuck.

As a mum of two and a legal professional (which is why we’re keeping this anonymous), she has an incredibly demanding schedule, including frequent work trips to the States, like the one coming up this week. It would have been easy to let things keep slipping and accept lower standards as the norm.

But she didn’t.

Fast forward to today, and she is absolutely glowing.

A client said to me on our first zoom call before coming onboard… ⁣

That their health and their body confidence was the last piece of the puzzle to fill.⁣

Where we are expected to bare some flesh.⁣

Some of us can’t wait for the warm weather.⁣

Keen to strip off and bare some skin.⁣

The rest of us are covered up to the neck.⁣

Covered up on at the beach and wearing big baggy clothes sweating our t**s off in July.⁣

Where ever you fall on this spectrum right now is fine...⁣

But what I don’t want,⁣

Is for your self-image to dictate your behaviour.⁣

If you like to be sat on your sun lounger in a onesie,⁣

That’s completely cool.⁣

But I want it to be your choice,⁣

Not enforced upon you by low self-esteem.⁣

You don’t need motivation…⁣

What you need is an approach you don’t feel you want to resist from.⁣

Lack of motivation is mostly down to not wanting to do the approach/strategy you are currently following.⁣

Needing to relay on motivation means we will more often than not will be failing.⁣

Think of all the things you enjoy to do.⁣

You don’t need motivation to do those things.⁣

Imagine it was that way with your food choices and exercise strategy.⁣

Now of course none my clients or I are highly motivated all the time.⁣

But imagine if you knew how to work the foods you enjoy into your plan.

It didn’t feel like a chore to eat to lose weight.

If you found a way to be more consistent with your activity without resenting doing it.⁣

The number one thing we need is your adherence to improve and become more consistent to see an improvement with your results. ⁣

I would be struggling with motivation if I was made to jump around my living room to Joe Wicks or go out running for 30-60 minutes.⁣

We all have different likes and dislikes with food and exercise.⁣

So it’s unlikely we find a way that is lasting with a generic approach.⁣

Most of the ladies and gents I coach had the same issues with motivation before coming onboard.⁣

They’re always watching you.

Not sometimes.
Not when you think they are.
Always.

If/when I’m lucky enough to have kids, I want to be a role model for them.⁣

Many of my clients have children,⁣

And almost all of them are incredibly aware of their position in their kids' lives.⁣

Your standards,⁣

Morals,⁣

And lifestyle choices,⁣

Are all absorbed like a sponge by your kids,

More than ever, it really matters how you behave as a parent.

You are probably somewhat aware that your parents taught you a few good and a few bad habits and ways of thinking.

The greatest gifts you can teach your children is the habits of good physical and mental health,

Because unlearning bad habits as an adult is brutal.

But growing up with the right ones? That’s freedom.

Give them the biggest gift of being happy in their skin and have the healthy habits ingrained in them growing up.

Not having to undo the bad habits you may have taught them.

Be the role model they deserve.

40 mins on a Saturday well spent.

Good sweat, good tunes, and not a calorie counted in sight.

Most people in their 30s and 40s are chasing shortcuts.

Jumping from diet to diet.

Chasing fat loss, a flat waistline, and that repeating thought of “I’ll start fresh on Monday” which even they are bored of hearing themselves say.
