Finding calm, balance, and energy from within

I first fell in love with Usui Reiki after personally experiencing the beautiful healing it can bring. During a particularly challenging time in my life — navigating the ups and downs of menopause and its endless symptoms — Reiki became a source of calm, balance, and renewal. The deep sense of peace I felt inspired me to study further and become a Reiki Practitioner, so I could share this gentle yet powerful energy with others who need it most. Alongside Reiki, I’m also a Certified Soma Breath Instructor, guiding people through rhythmic breathing, movement, and meditation to help them release stress, rebalance hormones, and reconnect with their body’s natural vitality. Both Reiki and breathwork complement each other beautifully — one working through energy, the other through breath — together creating deep relaxation and transformation from the inside out.

Menopause is about much more than changing hormones — it’s also a big shift for the nervous system and the brain.

As estrogen levels fall, the central nervous system has to adjust and find a new balance.

Estrogen plays an important role in supporting the brain.

When levels drop, it can affect mood, energy, sleep, stress tolerance, and how safe and settled the body feels.

This is why menopause can feel so intense — it affects the brain and nervous system, not just hormones, and it’s definitely not “all in your head"

How menopause can affect the nervous system

🧠 Mood & emotional regulation

Estrogen and progesterone help support the brain chemicals that regulate mood, calm, and emotional resilience.
When these hormones decline, it’s common to feel more anxious, low, irritable, or emotionally sensitive.

💭 Brain fog & mental clarity

Lower estrogen can affect how the brain uses energy and how well different areas communicate.

This may show up as brain fog, forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating, low motivation, or feeling mentally overwhelmed as the brain adapts to a new normal.
