We had another wonderful day today with our 3 little helpers joining us again!

We started our morning with a walk in the sunshine, and what a treat – the horse and donkey came right up to greet us! It really put smiles on everyone’s faces.

Back at the barn, we all got stuck into different creative activities. Some of us started working on diamond coasters, which were a big hit – so many beautiful colours and sparkles! Others enjoyed doing some lovely drawings or a wordsearch.

Jo and Patrick joined us for lunch Right at Home Colchester & District After a tasty lunch, we headed over to our allotment area to check in on how everything's growing – and it’s looking fantastic! We’re so proud of how well it’s all coming along.

To end the day on a high note, we played the balloon game – always lots of laughs and movement. And a special shoutout to Jenson, who made a brilliant poster all about us 🥰

Another great day full of sunshine, creativity, and connection 🌼💬💚

Today we had 3 young recruits helping us.

We began the morning catching up over a cuppa and some warm crumpets — a comforting start to the day. Afterwards, we braved the clouds for a gentle walk, doing our best to dodge the rain and enjoy the fresh air.

We then tapped into our creative side with chalk pastels. From writing our names in beautiful colours to experimenting with bold, abstract designs, everyone’s personality shone through on paper. Meanwhile, some of our group enjoyed a good chat about boats and their past working lives — always a joy to hear such fascinating stories and memories.

After a hearty lunch, the afternoon brought variety — some of us took part in relaxing hand therapy, while others got stuck into brand new puzzles kindly gifted to us.

We rounded off the day with chair exercises to get us moving and a few friendly (and competitive!) rounds of table tennis. A lovely mix of fun, movement, and good company — just how we like it.

We began our morning with some peaceful knitting – a calm start that got our fingers moving and the conversations flowing. After that, we headed out for our morning walk, enjoying the fresh air. Along the way, we bumped into a friendly neighbour and invited them back for a cuppa – a lovely surprise!

Back inside, we got creative making birthday cards to sell in our little shop – each one as unique and colourful as the people who made them.

After a hearty lunch, the afternoon brought lots of choice and fun:
🏓 Some of us had a go at table tennis – plenty of laughter and friendly competition!
💅 Others relaxed while having their nails soaked and painted.
🎨 A few enjoyed some peaceful drawing time, while some headed out to tend the allotment.
💃 Before the day ended, we all came together for a bit of dancing – full of smiles and movement – followed by gentle chair exercises to wind things down.

A beautiful day filled with connection, creativity, and care. ❤️

Our morning started with a relaxed catch-up over tea, sharing stories and checking in with one another. We were delighted to welcome some visitors who brought great energy and smiles to the centre.

Afterwards, we stretched our legs with a peaceful morning walk — a lovely way to enjoy the fresh air and keep active. Poor Alison got stung by a wasp! Then it was time to get creative! Everyone had fun drawing and colouring different types of fruit — the room was filled with colour, laughter, and concentration.

Following a tasty lunch, the group split up for the afternoon. Some of us headed to the allotment to tend to the plants, while others stayed behind for some relaxing hand therapy and a good old-fashioned sing-along 🎶

Another lovely day full of joy, connection, and meaningful moments 💛

We started the morning with a gentle walk after breakfast and hot drinks — a refreshing way to begin the day, enjoying some fresh air and a good stretch. When we returned, everyone settled into something they love: from drawing and knitting to colouring and diamond art, it was heartwarming to see each person so engaged in their favourite pastimes.

Late morning brought some light-hearted competition with a few rounds of card games — lots of laughter and smiles all around!

We were delighted to be joined by Patrick and Lorraine Right at Home Colchester & District for lunch — it’s always a joy to have them with us. Their company brings an extra sense of warmth to our midday meal.

After lunch, we headed over to the allotment to get our hands in the soil and plant some pepper plants. A huge thank you to Sue for dropping off the plants and a lovely selection of seeds — your generosity is so appreciated, and we can’t wait to see everything grow!

We wrapped up the day on a high note — literally — singing along to The Sound of Music. A perfect ending to a fulfilling day.

Thank you to everyone who made today so special 💚

We were delighted to welcome a new member today. Everyone enjoyed having a chat, getting to know each other, and making them feel right at home.

After a cup of tea and crumpets we headed out for a refreshing morning walk—and what a treat it was! We spotted a combine harvester in action, which sparked some great memories and conversation.

When we got back the group settled into a mix of activities: some enjoyed colouring and tackling Sudoku puzzles, while others relaxed with the newspaper and a good chat.

After lunch, we shared a few laughs reading The Wit and Wisdom of Dad—there were plenty of giggles all around! A few of us then popped over to the allotment to check on the plants and soak up some fresh air.

We wrapped up the day with our gentle chair exercises, leaving everyone feeling stretched, relaxed, and ready for a well-earned rest.

We kicked things off with some light-hearted fun, having a good laugh together as we read through the Book of Useless Information and Facts – it's amazing the things you never knew you didn’t need to know! 😄

With the weather turning a bit chillier, we wrapped up warm and headed out for our morning walk. We spotted our usual friends – the horse and the donkey – always a highlight for everyone.

We continued painting our clay pots, and got creative with some beautiful drawings, colouring, and aqua painting. After a delicious lunch, some of us relaxed with hand therapy while others made the most of the afternoon at the allotment – getting hands-on with nature and enjoying the outdoors.

We finished the day with some gentle chair exercises to stretch out and unwind together.

We began the morning with a lovely catch-up over coffee and crumpets, chatting about what everyone got up to over the weekend — lots of smiles and stories shared. With the sun shining, we headed out for a refreshing morning walk, soaking up the warmth and enjoying the fresh air.

It was time to get creative as we painted the clay pots we made last week. There were some beautiful designs and lots of concentration — they’re looking fantastic.

After a delicious lunch, we focused on hand therapy to keep our fingers nimble and strong. Later, half the group headed over to the allotment to give everything a good watering — our plants are thriving thanks to everyone’s hard work.

We wrapped up the day with some gentle exercises to relax and unwind.

A wonderful mix of creativity, conversation, and care — just the way we like it 💛

Friday was one of those lovely, feel-good days at the centre that reminded us how special the little things can be.

We began our morning with a peaceful walk in the sunshine. The fresh air was just what we needed, and to our delight, we came across the beautiful horses. There were lots of smiles and happy conversations as we enjoyed nature at its best.

When we got back, we rolled up our sleeves and got creative with some clay. Everyone made their own unique creations — it was a joy to see so much imagination come to life.

After a delicious lunch and a bit of a rest, we headed out to our allotment area to give it a good watering. The plants are coming along beautifully, and everyone took pride in helping them grow.

We finished our day with some gentle exercises — a calm and refreshing way to wind down after such a full and happy day.

Days like this remind us how powerful routine, creativity, nature, and movement can be in bringing joy and connection. ❤️

Today was a special day as we warmly welcomed a new member to our group! It didn’t take long for everyone to get chatting and discovering shared interests — building boats was a popular topic, and we were all amazed to find out that three of our members once worked at the sugar beet factory. What a small world!

We made the most of the beautiful weather with a lovely morning walk in the sunshine, followed by some relaxing drawing once we returned.

After lunch, we had an early celebration for Terry’s birthday (he turns another year wiser tomorrow!) and sang a big, joyful “Happy Birthday” before enjoying a delicious chocolate birthday cake for dessert.

A couple of us popped over to the allotment in the afternoon — it definitely needed a good watering in this heat! We were thrilled to pick two more beetroot to add to our harvest.

We rounded off the day with a fun game of table tennis, which had us all in stitches, and finished with some gentle exercises to wind down.

Another day full of laughter, fresh air, creativity, and community. 💜
