Working alongside Rio Architects, Alistair Burroughs Design Partnership and McCann & Partners, we are pleased to be starting the year with a new project for Cardiff Airport.

The project will involve enabling works for a next generation security checkpoint and comprise of the following;

• Significant asbestos removal
• Replacement / alteration of the M&E system
• Enabling Building Works to the departure terminal

The BECT team are looking forward to working with this new client!

This week we held our first event with the University of Bath at our Holburne Park housing site where we welcomed a group of 17 Civil Engineering and Construction students.

Following a site induction and presentation on BECT Building Contractors Ltd the students were able to experience life on site and see the various stages of the housing process from piling and fusion, to the finishing of internals and externals of a house.

It was an extremely successful visit with positive feedback from both the students and academics, so much so the next visit is already fully subscribed!

Working with local students in helping them gain an insight into their field of study is something we feel passionate about, encouraging the workforce of the future and nurturing talent is a key feature of our organisation.

A huge thanks to the site team for making this happen.

We are so proud to be supporting ION Strength and Conditioning with their summer Health and wellbeing programme for Children.

Next week we will have 200 kids from across Cardiff attending our ION Summer Holiday Health and Wellbeing initiative for Children, free of charge.

Throughout the Summer Holidays we will be running multiple classes a day for Children aged 7-16 years old that will support their physical and mental wellbeing. Our classes will have a focus on ‘Athletic Development’ that is essential not only to sports performance but also everyday life.

Included in our Summer Programme will be focus areas on Mindset, Nutrition and Social Skills.

We are extremely grateful to have a number of local based businesses that share the same passion as we do in making exercise accessible to children of all backgrounds this summer.

This week our Landore Court Project welcomed a visit of 40 Cardiff University Architecture and Engineering, BSc and Masters students.

Site Manager Joseff Williams gave a presentation on the background of BECT and the Landore Court Project. The students had insight into methods used on the project, programming and logistics. This was followed by a walk around site to see the construction process up close.

We are pleased to announce a new work award; refurbishment of Blocks A & B student accommodation at Glamorgan Court for University of South Wales. Including remodelling of 54 bedrooms and 9 kitchens. Due to be completed end of September.

Another key milestone achieved at the Holburne Park development in Bath, with 15 houses successfully handed over across phases 3B and 4Aa. Well done to all those involved!
