As the month is coming to an end, we would love to receive more nominations for Employee of the Month. This is a great opportunity to recognise the hard work, kindness and dedication shown by our amazing team each day.

If there is a member of staff who has made a difference, gone the extra mile, or brightened your day, please take a moment to nominate them. Your feedback helps us celebrate the wonderful people who support and care for our residents.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Mother’s Day at the home. 💐

Residents enjoyed a lovely musical performance from Andrew, who played a variety of songs that had everyone singing along and tapping their feet. Music always brings back such special memories and it was a joy to see so many smiling faces.

We finished the celebration with a delightful afternoon high tea, where residents enjoyed sweet treats, a warm cup of tea, and great company.

A truly special afternoon that was enjoyed by all. 💕

Our residents recently enjoyed a relaxing Hiroko Sound Bath session here at the home. The calming sounds created a peaceful atmosphere where everyone could take time to unwind and enjoy the moment together.

The session also included gentle holistic therapies, with soothing hand massages and soft, guided movements to help residents relax their bodies and minds. It was wonderful to see so many smiles and to watch everyone feeling calm, comforted and engaged.

Activities like these support wellbeing, relaxation and sensory enjoyment for our residents, and it was truly a lovely experience for all who took part. 🌿✨

We enjoyed a lovely 1:1 session with one of our residents this week. 💛

At Ty Hafod, we believe it’s very important to spend quality one-to-one time with our residents, which is why we implement 1:1 sessions weekly within the home. These moments can be anything from a friendly chat, completing puzzles, listening to music, reminiscing, or looking through special memories together.

During this session we completed a puzzle, listened to some music, and shared lots of laughter along the way. It was a truly wonderful and meaningful time together. 😊

Sunday 8th March at Ty Hafod we celebrated International Women’s Day by recognising all the incredible women who make our home such a special place. 💜

From our dedicated carers to our hardworking domestic team, our wonderful kitchen staff, every woman plays an important role in caring for and supporting our residents each day.

To celebrate, we came together as one team and wrote uplifting quotes and messages on our Positivity Tree, sharing appreciation, kindness, and encouragement for one another.

Residents enjoyed our session with Rise Cardiff, Newport & Bridgend to play ball games! 🏀⚽

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and friendly competition as everyone got involved. Activities like this are a great way to keep active, boost wellbeing, and bring people together for some fun.

A big thank you to the team at Rise Entertainment for spending time with our residents and making the afternoon so enjoyable. We’re already looking forward to the next visit! 😊

We had a wonderful musical performance from Dave & Dai as we celebrated Welsh songs and traditions with our residents! 🎶

The room was filled with music, laughter, and plenty of singing along as everyone enjoyed the familiar Welsh songs. Some residents even got up to dance, making it a truly joyful celebration of our culture and heritage.

A big thank you to Dave & Dai for such a fantastic performance – it was enjoyed by all and created some very special moments for our residents. 🎤💃

We had a wonderful time celebrating St David’s Day with our residents! 🌼

Everyone got creative making beautiful daffodils, filling the room with bright yellow signs of spring. There was lots of laughter during a lively game of Welsh bingo, followed by a fantastic sing-along to some much-loved Welsh artists.

To round off the celebrations, residents relaxed together with a comforting cup of tea and a delicious Welsh cake — the perfect way to end a joyful day full of music, creativity, and community spirit. 💛

February has truly been a month to remember 💕

We loved celebrating Valentine’s Day surrounded by warmth, laughter, and the people who mean the most to us. The day felt extra special this year as we were treated to a beautiful live performance from Kelly Sings, whose stunning voice created the perfect romantic atmosphere.

And as if that wasn’t enough, we also enjoyed celebrating Shrove Tuesday together! There’s nothing better than sharing sweet treats, smiles, and special moments with friends and family.

From music to memories (and maybe a few extra pancakes!), February has reminded us just how important it is to pause, celebrate, and cherish time together.

Here’s to more moments like these as we step into spring 🌻🌷
