We were very pleased this morning, to welcome Fr Hammer from St Martin in Roath Church, Cardiff to our home for a special Christmas service. Residents came together for a quiet, meaningful gathering that brought comfort and a strong sense of togetherness. It was a chance to pause, reflect, and share this time of year with others, helping everyone feel connected, supported, and able to continue their faith during the Christmas season. We had a brilliant afternoon today with the visit of Victor Andrews tribute to EP with his Elvis tribute show 🎤 The music of the King filled the room and it wasn’t long before residents were singing along and enjoying every song. Families joined us too, which made it feel even more special, with everyone sharing the moment together as Christmas gets closer. The classics brought back memories, great fun, and had the whole place feeling warm, lively, and very Christmassy. A lovely way to spend time together and a visit we truly enjoyed 🎄✨

Today’s session had a lovely Christmas feel as residents made peppermint creams by hand. Each step was done with care, measuring, mixing, and shaping the sweets thoughtfully. The result was a delightful seasonal treat with a fresh peppermint flavour that suited the time of year perfectly 🎄
Making them from scratch gave everyone the chance to work closely with the ingredients, taking their time and focusing on careful mixing throughout the process.

Residents got creative and decided to made their own Christmas cards. Everyone got stuck in with stamping, cutting, gluing, decorating, and taking their time with each step. Some planned their designs carefully, others just went with what felt right.
There was a real sense of pride when the cards were finished. People were happy with what they’d made and keen to show them off. Each card was different, and every one reflected the person who made it.
A creative day and something meaningful to take away and share. 🎄

What a wonderful outing for our ladies. We enjoyed a fabulous Christmas show at The Posh Club Cardiff Boutique, complete with afternoon tea and a truly special atmosphere. The glamour of Shirley Classy and the brilliant performance from Oola! made the day extra memorable. We were delighted to win some raffle prizes too. Such a lovely way to celebrate Christmas together. A big thank you to our driver Gordon from VEST Community Transport for getting us there and back safely. 🎄✨

Christmas Crafting 🎄
Our residents enjoyed a lovely Christmas craft session creating their very own festive gonks. Each one was carefully stuffed and decorated, with residents choosing their own embellishments to make every gonk completely unique.

It was great to see the care and attention that went into each design, from choosing colours to adding those final details. No two were the same and the results were absolutely fabulous.

The finished gonks are now decorating our lounges and bedrooms and adding a warm festive touch around the home. A big well done to our talented residents ✨

Teddy the unicorn 🦄 trotted in today to share his Christmas wishes, and our residents were completely enchanted. His gentle nature and soft, silky hair won everyone over. Teddy’s visits bring comfort, connection, and a sense of ease that always lifts the day.
Today visit felt magical, and the smiles around the room said it all. We’re already looking forward to the next time he trots through our doors.

Today’s choir performance was a real highlight with Forget-me-not Chorus. Our residents have been working so hard, and seeing them shine made everyone feel proud. It was a very Christmassy session filled with warmth, familiar faces, and plenty of songs.

Thank you to our lead, Jacs, and to Ben on piano for guiding and supporting the session. A big thank you to our lovely volunteers, and to all the families and friends who came along and cheered our residents on. Your support meant a lot.

Our Christmas wrapping station was a real success today! 🎁 We wrapped gifts for anyone who stopped by with a donation, and our little elves loved being part of it, and get busy.
The response was great, that we’ll be setting up again tomorrow just morning time, for more wrapping and glittering.
Thank you for the support you continue to show us. We appreciate every bit of it. ❤️
