🎃 Halloween Mischief at Penylan House!👻

Brooms were flying, pumpkins were glowing, and our residents were up to all sorts of Halloween mischief! We played games, told a few ghostly jokes, and even had a costume or two that gave us a good scare (mostly from the mirror). The children who visited brought big smiles (and helped us eat the sweets), and our team members joined in with amazing costumes, we’re still deciding who had the best one! Families joined us too, making it an afternoon of fun and laughter, spooky stories, and great company.

No tricks here just treats, good spirits, and a lot of fun memories. Have a safe and Happy Halloween 🎃

🎃Our Breakfast Club went boo-tifully spooky this morning! Residents tucked into pancake webs, devil eggs, fruit pumpkins and many more food treats, while spooky tunes played in the background. Turns out ghosts and goblins aren’t scary before coffee, they’re just hungry! 👻 We getting ready now for our Halloween Party this afternoon with more spooky fun to follow!

Pumpkin painting 🎨 day got everyone in the Halloween spirit! 🎃 Instead of carving, we went with paintbrushes and let creativity take over. The results? Spooky faces, bright colors, and a few designs that deserve a spot in a haunted art show. 👻🖌️
We kept things paint-friendly this year so our pumpkins can have a second life later washed off, chopped up, and can be turned into a delicious warm soup. 🍲 Not bad for a day’s work, right?

Who knew pumpkins could look this good and also taste great? 😊

We had an absolute blast at karaoke this afternoon with our residents. The moment the first song started, everyone joined in singing and clapping. It didn’t take long before we all laughed with all of off-key notes (the best kind!) There were some surprise stars in the mix, a few duets that had us all smiling, and of course a cheeky glass or two to keep the confidence flowing. It’s always great to see how music brings everyone together, whether it’s singing along to an old favourite or just enjoying the energy in the room.

Definitely one to remember, and we’re already talking about what to sing next time

🛍️ Lovely Day Out with the Ladies! 🌸
We had a fantastic outing to McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Bridgend a perfect day of shopping, lunch, and plenty of laughs! The ladies really enjoyed browsing the shops and treating themselves to a few finds.
We couldn’t have done it without our great driver from VEST Community Transport thank you for taking such good care of us and getting us there and back safely! 🚌👏

🪔 Happy Diwali ✨
As we begin our Diwali celebrations, we gathered with residents to mark the festival of lights. We talked about the meaning behind this beautiful tradition and how families around the world celebrate with lights, sweets, and time together. Our team and residents dressed in traditional attire, shared delicious homemade dishes, and enjoyed traditional sweets made specially for the occasion. It was a lovely way to learn more about the customs shared by our colleagues who celebrate Diwali at home.
To end the day, residents lit small lanterns and shared thoughtful wishes with everyone, filling the home with warmth and light.
At Penylan House we are proud to be a multicultural community where everyone’s traditions are valued and celebrated.

Our residents got creative with some seasonal crafts! They stitched and stuffed their own fabric pumpkins, adding bright colors and cute little stalks to finish them off. Everyone enjoyed the activity, and the results turned out beautifully! a cheerful touch of autumn around our home. 🎃Each one is unique, colorful, and full of personality, just like the people who made them!
They’re now on display in our entrance, welcoming everyone who comes in with a bit of autumn cheer. What do you think of their handiwork? 🍂

A Concert on the Move 🎶
Today, Mark & Louise brought music right to our residents’ rooms, spreading warmth and joy along the way. This special “walking concert” made sure everyone could enjoy a few favourite songs up close. There were smiles all around as Mark and Louise sang with heart and care.
