Trust.

Trust you are being guided, even when you feel you have been left down by your Guides/God/Source.

Losses, denials, and disappointments are redirections in disguise.
We struggle to accept it because, even though we claim to have faith and trust in the guidance we seek, our human nature tends to get in the way.

What we have is CONDITIONAL Trust.

We ask for guidance and trust it IF it looks in a certain way. We pray for a miracle and trust it will come IF it happens by a certain time, IF it matches our expectations, or desires, or dreams.
When, in reality, our Guides/God knows what we don't.

So they guide us in the best way so we achieve what is for our highest good. We see it as punishments or that life is happening to us. The truth is, all is happening FOR us, and the losses and challenges that come our way, are simply invitations to seek lessons and growth, to question our true desires, and to find our truth.

Surrender to the expectations.

The how is taken care of.

As the calendar turns to January, I find myself reflecting on the word I chose to guide me through 2024: 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆. At the time, it felt like an anchor—a promise to myself to rebuild what had been torn down and to finally step out of the survival mode that had gripped me since losing my father three years ago. His passing shook my foundation in ways I hadn’t expected, reopening wounds I thought had long healed, and bringing back the sense of insecurity I once carried as a child navigating abuse.

Safety felt like an unrealistic goal. It was about feeling secure in one aspect of life—emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually.

I now have a job that provides a consistent income, something I hadn’t experienced in over a decade of self-employment. For the first time in years, I feel like I can exhale. I also started my wellness journey- first emotionally, and more recently, following a wellness plan. My health has improved, my energy as well, and I managed to lose 5 Kilos (11 pounds) in 2 months.

But safety wasn’t just about what I gained—it was also about what I let go of. Some relationships, despite their deep roots, were not spaces where I could truly feel safe. Letting go of the expectations and obligations tied to those relationships was one of the hardest and most necessary acts of self-love I’ve ever known.

Amidst these changes, I’ve also found reconnections that felt safe and healing. Friendships I once cherished but thought life had taken away have been revived, reminding me of the power of relationships rooted in mutual love and understanding.

This season of my life feels like the closing of a chapter. It feels like the end of a karmic cycle, a shedding of burdens that were never truly mine to carry,and I can't help but feel the karmic resonance of this moment. Safety isn’t just about finding refuge and is not about certainty. It is about TRUST. Trusting myself to honour my needs. Trusting the cycles of life to bring endings and beginnings in their own time. Trusting that even in the face of loss and change, I can rebuild a life where I feel at home.

True peace blooms where your soul feels at home. If your surroundings feel heavy, chaotic, or unaligned, it may be your soul whispering: this is not where you belong.

Trust the discomfort as a guide. Seek spaces that honour your essence, relationships that nourish your heart, and environments where your light can shine without resistance.

Peace isn’t found—it’s created where you’re meant to be.

I think it's important we talk about the fear of failure and being a disappointment to ourselves or others.

For me, being a survivor of childhood/teenage emotional abuse, I was often called worthless, a disappointment, a failure, a mistake, stupid, pathetic, fat, ugly...

When you hear this day and day out from family members who were supposed to love and protect you, this became ingrained into your subconscious mind.

It made me turn to self-hatred, shame, and internalising that emotional pain through eating disorders to detach and disconnect.

However, something else this led to was a high need for "perfectionism." A fear of failing assignments, making mistakes, or getting things wrong as I would then be tormented by those voices. Those painful reminders, the flashbacks, the shame, and the fear.

But when we know better, we can do better. As we move through the cycles and seasons of our lives, we inevitably change. If we look back to look for the lessons in the pain we endure, rather than staying there or reliving it in our present narrative, we will grow too.
We will be able to see that we were doing our best, with what we knew and what we have at the time, and if it wasn't for that past version of ourselves, we wouldn't be where we are now. This acceptance dissolves all shame and fear.
