Llys Cyncoed's dedicated team of skilled professionals provide premium residential and dementia care on a respite and permanent basis in Cyncoed, Glamorgan. Residents can choose from a wide range of accommodation options, as well as enjoy shared spaces such as stylish lounges, a welcoming cafe and a hair and beauty salon. Outside there are beautiful, wheelchair-friendly landscaped gardens that offer a peaceful environment for everyone to enjoy. The passionate and dedicated team at Llys Cyncoed ensure that all individual needs and requirements are met. They encourage individuals to stay active and they work hard to arrange exciting events, trips and on-site activities so there is always something to do.

We have been making the most of the recent gorgeous weather and getting out and about in to our beautiful garden.

It's lovely to see everything start to come in to bloom and our external lift ensures that this magnificent outdoor space is easily accessible.

Gardening club are busy with table top gardening and planting seeds which will then be transferred to the raised flower beds for everyone to enjoy.

2026 takes place on Saturday, 28 March, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, this year is the 20th anniversary of the global "lights out" movement.

Organized by the WWF, it encourages individuals and businesses to switch off non-essential lights to raise awareness for climate action and environmental protection

Here at Llys Cyncoed Care Home we have the truly amazing Linda who is not only incredibly creative, she is passionately driven in all aspects of environmental awareness, recycling and sustainably

Linda has foraged in our garden and has created this lovely display which is in our Bistro and gives everyone the opportunity to write a pledge (big or small) and commit to doing something differently to help protect our world - this will be here throughout this week.

Thank you Linda for being our "Recycling Police" 😍, we are all truly grateful for everything that you do.

Nic calls herself our "Posh Dining Lady" and she spreads habitual joy and happiness when serving meals, snacks and drinks to our residents.

We recently had the absolute pleasure of celebrating one of our truly amazing residents - Mr. Julian Moyle.

Julian is a former professional opera singer and for his 99th birthday his friends, family and fellow performers arranged a concert in his honour

It was a truly joyous occasion filled with love, laughter and some absolutely incredible music and singing.

Thank you again to everyone involved who made this such a special day.

As part of our vibrant activities programme we use our mini bus to go out on trips 3 times every week to a wide variety of destinations.

Yesterday we went to the Newport Wetlands Centre, it was a glorious day with blue skies and sunshine and just the perfect place to sit amongst nature.

Yesterday afternoon our and the dining team gave a talk about the importance of nutrition and hydration, at all ages but especially so as we get older.

They demonstrated how to make fresh fruit smoothies which are packed full of vitamins and all good nutrients, and how these can be easily done by people living in their own homes as a cost effective way to maintain good health.

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming some of the team from Velindre Cancer Centre Fundraising this week.

They came to meet our wonderfully talented artist, Mrs. Vivien Burgess who had nominated Velindre as one of her chosen charities to donate the profits from the sale of her paintings at our recent exhibition.

What a great way to spend the afternoon of the Friday before Christmas!!

What started off as very civilized and gentle throwing of quickly descended into all out competitive throwing and my word there are some strong arms here🤣🤣and there were some very definite tactics being used as well!
