☀️🧺 Happy National Picnic Month & International Self-Care Day! ☀️🧺

Today at Priory Hospital Cardiff 🏥, we celebrated National Picnic Month 🥪 and International Self-Care Day 🥰! Together with our service users, we had a picnic – complete with blankets, baskets, and sandwiches/snacks 🥪🥤. Staff and service users spent time together 🤝, sharing stories, laughter 🤭, and enjoying the summer sun ☀️ – (in between the rain ☔️!) 🌸✨. It was a lovely opportunity to slow down 🕣, connect 👏, and appreciate the simple joys of good company and nature 🍃.

Alongside our picnic, we focused on self-care 💆🏽 – sharing support, posters 📚, and tips on how to look after ourselves both in and out of work🌿👏. We discussed ways to spot signs of burnout 😴, how to set healthy boundaries❗️, and small steps 📈 we can take each day to recharge 💪 and protect our wellbeing ✨🤩.

Here’s to simple moments that bring joy and recharge our minds! 🌻

🍫💌 DOUBLE THE JOY AT PRIORY HOSPITAL CARDIFF! 💌🍫

On July 7th, we mixed gratitude with a little chocolate magic 🍫 as we celebrated National Thank You Day 🥰 AND National Chocolate Day 😄🎉🍫

Our staff came together for a day of:

🍬 Chocolate Tasting – From dark and dreamy to nutty surprises, there were certainly some mystery flavours!
🤔 Guess the Flavour – Some were easy, others left us pretty puzzled 🤷‍♀️🤩
🍫 Fun Chocolate Facts 📘📚🍩
✍️ Thank You Notes – We took time to spread kindness by writing notes of appreciation to our amazing colleagues and teams. Every note was a reminder of how powerful a simple “thank you” can be ✍️🤩

🌈🎉 Pride Parade Magic at Priory Hospital Cardiff! 🎉🌈

Yesterday, we turned our site into a celebration of pride, acceptance, and unity in honour of Pride Awareness Month. 🏳️‍🌈✨

🌟 Our MDT kicked off a spectacular Pride Parade 💃 🌈 waltzing through each unit in a wave of colour 🎨, music 🎶, and joy 🤩— handing out sweets 🍬, sharing laughter, and dancing their hearts out 🕺🏿! With rainbow outfits 👗💃, vibrant hair 👩‍🎤, and bright face paints, they brought Pride to life in every step ⭐️💫.

And marching alongside them was our fabulous Pride Unicorn 🦄 and Priory Hospital Cardiff’s own dazzling Pride Butterfly 🦋 — spreading magic ✨, smiles, and sparkle 💖 wherever they went!

Every moment reminded us that Pride is about visibility, inclusion 👬, and joy 🥰.

🍰 We baked rainbow cakes with the service users 🧁, had discussions about identity and inclusion and covered site in bold, educational Pride posters — turning learning into celebration 🎊🎉!

Yesterday, and all days, was a celebration of who we are, and a reminder that here, you are free to be you. 🌍💖

Thank you to all staff who got involved - after all, we don’t just celebrate Pride — we live it. 🤩💫

Mental Health Awareness Week 2025: A Celebration of Connection 🤝, Care 🥰, and Community 🏘️.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’ve embraced the powerful theme: “Creating Communities that Care for People Living with a Mental Illness.” Throughout the week, our goal was simple 🎯 — to show that no one is ever alone 😊, and that together 👥, we can build 🧱 a compassionate, supportive environment where mental health is not only acknowledged, but celebrated 🥳. And what a week it’s been!

Mindset Monday
We started the week off with a wave of positivity 😊 and reflection 😌🌅. Priory Hospital Cardiff’s “Little Book of Positivity” ☀️ was placed in the staff room for all to read 📕. Words of encouragement 🗣️ and thoughtful messages ✉️ from our team were shared, lifting spirits 🙂 and boosting morale! The message was clear: we are here for one another 🤲☀️🤼.

Tune In & Tone Up Tuesday
Creativity 🖼️🖌️ took centre stage 🎬as we channelled our inner poets and rappers 🎶🎤. We also sculpted our emotions out of play doh 🎨! No creative session is complete without ice cream for all 🍦🍧.

Wellness Wednesday
Brains 🧐🧠 were buzzing at our Virtual Mental Health & Wellbeing Quiz! We tested our knowledge 💭🤔and learned valuable facts 🙇‍♀️. A huge shout out to our trivia champions, the Fantastic Four, for taking the crown — you truly lived up to your name 🥇🏆!

Toolkit Thursday
Knowledge is power 📚, and we made sure everyone had the tools 👨🏽‍🏫to care for their mental health and wellbeing 😊. Priory’s wealth of support information was sent directly to everyone’s inbox 📧— a vital reminder that support is just a click away ⌨️💾!

Fuel Up & Flex and Flow Friday
Our Multidisciplinary Team cooked up breakfast rolls for the whole team 🥓🍳☕️— a delicious way to start the day with gratitude 😊. Then, it was time to relax and unwind 😌 with soothing hand massages 💆🏽🤚for all staff🧴🥰.

This week was more than themed days and fun activities 🤩🎨🍳 — it was an example of how communities can come together 🤝 to support mental health, reduce stigma 📉, and celebrate the strength 💪 found in connection 🏘️ 🤼.

Let’s keep this energy going beyond Mental Health Awareness Week 🤩. Let’s keep creating spaces where everyone feels safe 😊, supported 🥰, and seen 🤗.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 is almost here 🤩! This year, we’re embracing a powerful mission: “to create communities that care for people living with a mental illness.” 👫👏

We all play an integral role in creating a supportive 👥, and compassionate environment—for our service users, our colleagues and ourselves 😊🏥. To help raise awareness 📣 📈 and encourage open conversations 🗣️ about mental health, we’ve organised a week long 📆 schedule of activities 🎨🎤🧐🗞️, designed to promote well-being 🥰, connection 🤝and self-care 😊.

We have invited our staffing teams and service users to take part in activities this coming week, whether it’s dropping in for a chat 💬, joining a quiz 📚 or simply pausing to reflect 😌. Their presence matters, and their well-being is a priority 💪.

Let’s come together to raise awareness and strengthen our culture of care! 🗣️🏥🧠
