The Pro Sports Medicine re-brand aligns us with our expertise of working in professional sport, whilst reflecting our wider range of services beyond physiotherapy. In addition we now offer services such as PRP, Ostenil and steroid injections, diagnostic imaging, Private GP and Sports Medicine services including well man/woman and concussion clinics. Concussion is a red hot topic at present, with a very high profile case in rugby league highlighting the importance of recognising a concussion and taking action early…

Not every hit causes a concussion, and It’s not always obvious immediately 🤕

Whether you’re a competitor, a team mate, teacher, coach, parent or pitch side practitioner…The key is knowing what to look for and when to seek help.

🚨Physical signs

- Headache or feeling of pressure in the head
- Nausea or vomiting
- Balance problems or dizziness
- Blurred or double vision, or “seeing stars”
- Sensitivity to light or noise
- Fatigue, feeling sluggish or drowsy

🚨Cognitive and emotional signs

- Feeling stunned, dazed, or confused
- Difficulty concentrating or remembering
- Answering questions more slowly than usual
- Irritability, being moody, or having trouble with self-control
- Changes in personality or behavior

If you notice any of these signs don’t shrug it off - take action ASAP, as early medical assessment makes a huge difference in recovery.

Do omega-3s help concussion recovery? 🤔

Animal data is encouraging, early human work is emerging, and a pilot study suggests DHA might shorten symptoms—BUT omega-3s aren’t a cure.
