🕯️ A Moment of Calm and Reflection 🕯️

Our residents recently took part in a soothing sensory candle activity designed to promote relaxation and reminiscence. They were invited to smell a selection of essential oils and share any memories or feelings the aromas brought to mind, leading to some lovely conversations and personal reflections.

The session also included a gentle guided breathing exercise, accompanied by calm music and aromatherapy, helping to draw out comforting candlelit memories.

It was a beautiful reminder of how sensory experiences can support wellbeing, spark memories, and create moments of calm and connection. 💛

🌊 A Taste of the Seaside 🍦
On Friday our residents enjoyed a wonderfully nostalgic seaside-themed activity that brought smiles, laughter, and plenty of cherished memories. With ice creams in hand, fun sunglasses to wear, and a variety of sensory reminiscence tools to explore, everyone was encouraged to share their own stories of seaside holidays from years gone by.

These meaningful conversations sparked joy, connection, and a real sense of togetherness, highlighting the powerful impact of reminiscence activities on wellbeing. It was heart-warming to see how familiar sights, tastes, and textures can unlock special memories and create such a positive atmosphere for all involved.

Moments like these remind us how important it is to celebrate individual life stories while creating new happy memories together. 💙

Want to watch a film you love on a big screen? With Tŷ Llandaff's Rent A Cinema event on the 20th of February, you can see a film of your choosing at our Limelight Picture House for only £6 per-person, with snacks and drinks included!
