The UK Government has launched the Help for Households campaign, sharing info on the support packages it has put in place to help ease the impact of the cost of living crisis. There are 41 schemes, all of which can be found on the new Help for Households website: https://helpforhouseholds.campaign.gov.uk/

Please take a look if want to know about support available.

If you’d like to speak to anyone directly, the Age Cymru helpline number is 0300 303 44 98. We’re open 9-4 and the link for more info is here https://www.ageuk.org.uk/cymru/information-advice. The 24/7 C.A.L.L. mental health helpline is 0800 132 737.

Age Cymru provides information and advice on a whole host of topics that you may need help with in later life. From money and health to care and housing advice, we provide support when you need it

Our friends at COPA are conducting a survey to help them with their marketing. If you had a few minutes to complete it, I'm sure they'd be very appreciative.

We are a small charity run by older people for older people in Wales. We passionately believe that there should be nothing about us, without us.

We want to improve the way we communicate and market ourselves, particularly to older people living in Wales. There are so many challenges for older people in Wales at the moment, and it is vital that the voices of Older People are heard and that our interests are fairly represented and not neglected.

We would be very grateful if you could complete our survey, which we hope will help us reach more people.

This confidential survey will take between three and ten minutes to complete.

You can find more about our work here: www.copacharity.com

Pension Credit.

Around one third of those eligible for Pension Credit aren’t claiming it; that’s around 850,000 households. To address this, we are running a Pension Credit campaign to encourage those pensioners on a low income to claim it.

15th June marks Pension Credit Day of action, a media day organised by the Minister for Pensions to encourage people to check their eligibility for Pension Credit. We are encouraging people to spread the word to their friends and family members who may be eligible.

Pensioners may still be eligible if they own their own home or have savings (the first £10,000 of savings is ignored).

In the current cost of living crisis, it’s even more vital we help to encourage those who are eligible to apply. People can check their eligibility at Pension Credit: Overview - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) or by calling 0800 99 1234.

Local Democracy Election Toolkit
Later Life Ambitions (LLA) is determined to ensure that the voice of British pensioners is heard in local government. We’re asking that you get in touch with your local councillor or council candidate to ask them to consider the needs of those in later life. Some areas are having local elections this May. If your local area is not having an election, you can still get in touch with your local Councillor to ask them to support the ambitions of those in later life.
Attached is a link to a Local Elections Toolkit that may be of use to you.
