It's been a pleasure to follow Georgia's journey and see her grow in confidence over the years since first becoming a Welsh Youth Parliament Member, representing Learning Disability Wales, back in 2021.

We are very proud to see Georgia taking on this new role as a member of Mencap’s Voices Council. It's another way for Georgia to ensure that the voices of people with a learning disability are heard and listened to. Congratulations Georgia!

Georgia is also a valued member of our Board of Trustees - and a gig buddy with Gig Buddies Cymru - and she continues to raise awareness of the rights of people with a learning disability in her everyday life.

Diolch yn fawr iawn to Zarah and Gareth from Newport People First for delivering a fantastic learning disability awareness session to our team.

It was a great session and we highly recommend the training!

Last Wednesday we delivered our Learning Disability Awareness training to the staff at Learning Disability Wales at their office in Cardiff.
The team's enthusiasm and hospitality resulted, in that the training session went really well and they were a credit to the organisation.
We had some great feedback from the day and also some brilliant ideas on how we can make training better. One suggestion was adding a powerpoint to run alongside us delivering training which we work on asap...

We really appreciated the opportunity to deliver our training and would like to broaden our ways to deliver more training to more organisations, businesses and services.
We believe the training is a valuable way to get our message out there and improve the way society communicates and listens.
Diolch Yn Fawr to Joanne who organised the day....with Gerraint J Griff Gig Buddies Cymru

Creating a Wales that values and includes every child, young person and adult with a learning disability

We want all people with a learning disability to live as independently as possible in a place that they choose, and to have control over their lives.

We believe that people with a learning disability can achieve this if they, their families and the people who support them have access to the best information, advice, training and support.

We play a unique role in making this happen - through our own services, working in partnership with other organisations, and influencing policy.

How we do this
