🏃‍♂️ Inspiring Work from Dr. John Shewring! 🏃‍♀️

We're proud to share that Dr. John Shewring has recently completed his Running Guide Training with Welsh Athletics and is now supporting visually impaired runners across the Vale, through Penarth and Dinas Runners Club.

As part of this initiative, John helped form the first ever visually impaired relay team to compete at the Cosmeston Relays! Among the team was Tracey Hinton – one of our patients, a former captain of the British Paralympic team, and a multi-time Paralympic medalist. 🥇👏

On a hot summer evening in July the first Visually impaired team entered the annual Cosmeston Relay race organised by Penarth and Dinas Runners. There were 250 teams of 3 athletes totalling 750 runners, which was a fast and frenetic race over a mixed terrain course in the grounds of Cosmeston Lakes....
