Try and collect any 24/7 robot items as soon as you get your text. This keeps the robot from getting full and causing delays👍🏻

If we have your contact details and you normally get a SMS to say it’s ready
PLEASE DONT PHONE us. If you have a query just use the contact email button on our website. It is checked every 10 mins and this allows staff to continue working without the phone constantly ringing . 👍🏻

Allow 30 mins for any acute electronic prescriptions to arrive from your GPs👍🏻

Make sure you arrive promptly for any booked consultations 👍🏻

🦠Flu Vaccinations - Bookings Now Open 🦠 Start Date 1st October 🕑

If you are aged 65 and over, or are aged 18-64 within a clinic high-risk group then you are eligible for an NHS flu jab.

Clinical Risk Groups:
o Diabetes
o A heart problem
o A chest complaint or breathing difficulties, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma that requires regular steroid inhalers or tablets
o Kidney disease (from stage 3)
o A weak immune system due to disease or treatment (and also close contacts of people in this group)
o Liver disease
o Had a stroke or mini stroke
o A neurological condition like Parkinson’s disease, or motor neurone disease
o A missing spleen or a problem with it
o Learning disability
o Severe mental illness
o Morbidly obese (class III obesity). This is defined as those with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or above, aged 16 or over.
o Epilepsy

We will be operating our flu clinics every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday throughout the winter. Appointment times will be from 09:30 to 10:15 and from 4:45 to 5:30.

If you already have a booking with your GP surgery then we ask that you honour this appointment.

We will also be providing private flu vaccinations for those who do not meet NHS eligibility but would like to ensure they stay healthy and protected against the flu this winter. These appointments are bookable via our website and will be at a cost of £21.99 per person.

Bookings can now be made via our website. We encourage people to book early to help ensure protection this winter. We will be doing walk-in appointments but these will be subject to availability of the pharmacist.

🌟 Exciting patient success story from Hopwoods Pharmacy, who are also an approved Thuasne Partner Clinic! 🌟

The local GP surgeries will soon be moving over to EPS (electronic prescribing system) which means that the use of paper prescriptions will stop for most patients and instead we will receive your prescriptions via electronic transfer.

To allow your GP surgery to automatically send us your prescriptions, we need to receive your "nomination". This is basically just a statement that you have given consent for us to receive and dispense your prescriptions going forward.

Importantly, the process of ordering your prescription and the turn around times will not change. There should not be any disruption to your prescription journey.

Thank you to those who have already given us their nomination. For those in the pharmacy over the next two weeks, please let us know if you are happy to give us your nomination. For those who may not be in the pharmacy for a while, you can email us for your nomination at info@hopwoodspharmacy.co.uk

Please note that there have been reports of certain pharmacies in the local area automatically submitting patient nominations without first obtaining consent. This is not allowed and either verbal or written consent must be given to your chosen pharmacy.

📞 UPDATE 📞 PLEASE SHARE

As a result of a national broadband update by BT our internet is cutting out multiple times per day.

This is causing phone calls to drop out constantly and slowing significantly our dispensary computer system.

We have a solution which will be installed on Monday afternoon .
