Another 13 people trained in First Aid today in the Knighton Community.

Today Niall and Sean attended Knighton Community Centre to deliver First Aid training, organised by Knighton Women’s hour.

Fantastic group today who were all very keen to get involved and interact throughout the session.

The session contained -

* Public access defibrillators
* CPR adult/child
* Choking adult/child
* Recovery position

We also had time to explain about the Voluntary Alternative Responder Scheme that we have in Knighton, and the work that Knighton Division carries out within our local area.

If you would like a first aid awareness session or public access defibrillator session, please get in touch.

Huge thank you to Niall for delivering today’s session!

Remembrance Parade 2025

A huge thank you to the members who represented Knighton Division today.

St John Ambulance has a long history of service during times of war — from caring for the wounded on the front lines to running hospitals and training civilians in first aid. That legacy of compassion and duty continues through our volunteers today.

Remembrance is about honouring those who gave everything, and carrying forward their spirit of service in what we do now.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Last night members from Knighton Division attended Knighton Bonfire and fireworks 🎇

It was great to see such a fantastic turnout despite the weather being a little damp.
Massive well done to Knighton Carnival Comitee for pulling out all the stops and providing us with an absolute brilliant fireworks display 🔥 🎇

Last night members from St John Ambulance Cymru Llandrindod Wells joined up with Knighton Division for our weekly training.
Lots of members across Powys are currently completing the Event Responser modules in line with the new training role out.
Once these modules are completed and assessments passed, these fantastic people will be out responding in our community!

Aberfan 1966 - We will never forget them.

Today we remember those who lost their lives in the Aberfan disaster and give thanks to the many who came from near, far and wide to help in one of our country's darkest hours. Cofiwn Aberfan.

If anyone wants to support Knighton St John Division this weekend by purchasing a lovely sweet treat, please pay a little visit to Charls cake shed.

The Division was founded in April 2024 following a very generous donation from the Knighton Hospital League of Friends.
Since the launch of the division, Knighton St John have:
- responded to a considerable amount of 999 calls for the Ambulance Service in the local Community
- provided first aid medical cover for several local events
- provided free life saving training sessions to the public in the local community
- the Division has progressed to having 3 active responders in the division with 5 more currently undertaking training

Knighton division is ever developing and growing from strength to strength, as a charitable organisation we rely on the support and donations of our community to ensure we can continue to provide the services that we do.

The donations we receive allow us to purchase lifesaving equipment when required, help us purchase modern training equipment to ensure we deliver exceptional training and help with day to day costs that arise as a division.

As a division we truly appreciate the generosity and support that we receive from this fantastic little community! 💚
