There is a local power cut on Crwys Road this morning and we and other local businesses are unable to open. Apologies to our patients with appointments this morning. We will contact you directly to rearrange apportionments as soon as power is restored

We have now reopened but with the following restrictions:
- You must not visit if you have COVID symptoms and we will pre-screen all visitors to check for these.
- Pre-arranged appointments only. You must call us and book an appointment before visiting the practice for eye tests and collections
- You will need to knock on the door to gain access when you attend for your appointment
- Only the patient should attend for the appointment. No family or friends will be allowed to attend with you.
- Eye checks and tests provided for non-routine problems with vision or eye health only. That is, only if you are having problems with your vision or eye health.
- Contact time between patients and staff will have to be kept to a minimum especially in the testing room
- Initially we are unable to adjust glasses to minimise patient contact

These measures are to protect both patients and employees from the risk of COVID-19. Please call us for more details. We will post more information shortly.

Finally it is good to be open again and we wish all our patients good health and stay safe.

We are closed at present due to COVID19 and the need for employees to self isolate. As soon as practicable we will be in touch with patients with outstanding orders for glasses and contact lenses to make arrangements for delivering these to you.

We cannot currently provide eye tests or take orders for new glasses.

We can sympathise with this advice! Even with your glasses on its still helps to set up your screen properly or choose the appropriate size when buying a new device.

Don't forget people in the following categories are entitled to a free NHS sight test:

▪️Are under 16*

▪️Are aged 16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education*

▪️Age 60 or over

▪️Diagnosed glaucoma patients

▪️Aged 40 or over and are either a parent, brother, sister, son or daughter of a diagnosed glaucoma patient, or
Have been advised by an ophthalmic practitioner that they are at risk of glaucoma

▪️Diagnosed with diabetes

▪️Registered blind or partially sighted

▪️Require complex lenses*

▪️Those whose sight test is carried out by a hospital eye department as part of the management of an optical condition

▪️Patient or partner are in receipt of Income Support, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Income-based Jobseekers Allowance or Pension Credit Guarantee Credit.*

▪️Named on a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate*
Named on a valid HC2W certificate
Partial help if you are named in a valid HC3W you might get some help towards the cost of a private sight test.

*Also entitled to NHS vouchers towards the cost of glasses or contact lenses.
