Thanks

How can parents support their teenagers effectively without losing sight of their own wellbeing?

Wendy Gardner and Jacob Guy both offered their insights into the importance of mothers’ and fathers’ roles, and the importance of parents protecting their own wellbeing during their child’s adolescent journey.

Jacob’s (JSG Health for Dads) session, “Empowering dads to be their best”, explored the vital importance of fathers’ mental and physical health, and the powerful role dads play as positive role models.

Wendy’s talk, “Breaking the Cycle: Presence-Based Parenting for the Adolescent Years”, explored how adolescence is often described as a turbulent stage, but in truth, it is a transformational one. Young people are not simply growing; they are forming the foundations of identity, emotional regulation, and self-belief.

Together, they contributed to a panel exploring the emotional realities of modern parenting, offering practical strategies to manage stress, strengthen resilience, and support parents’ and carers’ own wellbeing while raising teenagers😊

A busy and productive work week but another weekend of broken contact. So, I’ve thrown myself into my fitness routines. I have needed something to occupy my mind and stop the 🧠 from ruminating.

I am a huge advocate of and going hand in hand so why not get active and look after both 💪🏽

Good luck to my friends, colleagues and everyone involved at the London Marathon this weekend 🏃🏾‍♂️ 🏃🏽‍♀️ 💨
