Daniel our Funeral Service Specialist is climbing Pen-Y-Fan 10 times in 24 hours, all in aid of 2 special charities.

If you, like me, think that he’s absolutely crazy for doing this, and would like to donate, we (well Dan) would really appreciate it.

Hey everyone!
On 9th May I’ll be taking on the 10 Y Fan Challenge – hiking up Pen Y Fan 10 times within 24 hours 🥾

That’s roughly 60km of distance and over 29,000 feet of elevation… which means I’ll actually be climbing more height than Everest in a single day 🤯

I’m doing this in support of the Lord Mayor’s Charities: The Rescue Hotel for Dogs and The Forget Me Not Chorus – two brilliant causes that make a real difference.

If you’re able to support, any donation (big or small) would be hugely appreciated by both myself and the charities.

🚨 LAST NIGHT: FOUR FUNERAL DIRECTORS ENTERED… AND APPARENTLY TURNED TO CRIME 🚨

Well… not quite 😅

Sue and Dan, along with Gem and Bianca from D J Evans Forse Funeral Directors found themselves locked up behind bars last night, all in the name of raising money for the Lord Mayor of Cardiff’s chosen charities — The Rescue Hotel Cardiff and The Forget Me Not Chorus 💙

And honestly? We absolutely LOVED it.

From the moment we were “arrested” to when we (finally!) got released, it was an unforgettable night filled with laughter, teamwork, and meeting some truly amazing people (our fellow inmates were a delight!)

A huge thank you to:
👮 The Lord Mayor and the wonderful Mayoress for hosting such a brilliant event
👮‍♂️ The police officers who took far too much joy in locking us up
🔐 And all of our fellow “jail buddies” who made the night so much fun

Sue quickly earned herself a reputation as the prison’s very own escape artist, somehow managing to get out of her cell at every opportunity 🔓✨

Dan, on the other hand, made it very clear that prison food is not something he’ll be rushing back for anytime soon… safe to say it wasn’t a hit 🍽️😬

Special mentions must go to Gem… who wasted absolutely no time in embracing her life of crime — stealing the cell keys and attempting to take over the entire prison 😳

Meanwhile, Bianca remained a model prisoner… calm, well-behaved, and definitely not plotting an escape (even after the officers planted a fake spider in her cell!)

All jokes aside, we’re so proud to have been part of such an incredible event supporting two amazing charities. Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a memorable night 💙

Our Branch will be closing at 4pm today as the day has arrived where our Funeral Directors - Sue and Dan are being locked up and spending the night in a prison cell in aid of of the Mayors Charities - the Forget-Me-Not Chorus and the Dog Rescue Hotel.

If we survive and is let out on good behaviour, we will be back open at 9am tomorrow morning.

Well this time next week Dan & Sue will be locked up in separate police cells to help raise money for two amazing charities - The Forget-Me-Not Chorus (Alzheimer’s) and the Cardiff Dogs Hotel.

Dan is looking forward to the experience and is ready to jump all in and is looking forward to hearing that door bang shut. Sue on the other hand, is absolutely dreading it but is constantly reminding herself that it will be worth it to raise the money these two Charities deserve (if anyone is going to cry, it will be our Sue)

Breaking news from the most unexpected criminal masterminds in town… Sue and Dan are going to jail. 🚔

Don’t worry, it’s not a scandal (although it would make things more exciting). They’ve volunteered to be locked up for the night, all in the name of charity… which feels like a bold life choice, but we admire the commitment.

Dan, cool as ever, will probably have a full prison schedule organised within the first hour, cracking jokes and making himself at home like it’s just another day at the office. Sue, however, is facing true adversity. No six-hour bath. No fluffy robe. No princess treatment from her family. Just a night of “peasant living” behind bars. We’re genuinely concerned she might try to order room service from the guards.

This is either incredible bravery or a complete lapse in judgement… jury’s still out.
All jokes aside, they’re doing this for two amazing causes: the Forget Me Not Chorus and The Rescue Hotel Cardiff 🐾❤️ Please donate whatever you can to support them (and to speed up Sue’s return to her royal lifestyle). Let’s raise as much as possible and give them a night behind bars that’s truly worth it!
