✧༺♥༻ WINTER IN CHINESE MEDICINE ༺♥༻✧
This season corresponds to the Water element 💦
“Water is the softest thing, yet it can pe*****te the Earth and mountains. This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness.” ~ Lao Tzu 🍚
Winter is a time for slowing down and going inward to preserve energy and seek warmth ❤️🔥
Water relates to the Kidneys and is associated with wisdom, stamina and endurance. It is quiet until overwhelmed…too much activity, overdoing it and too much focus on the outer world will deplete Water and lead to imbalance. When your Water element is unbalanced, you might feel isolation, absentmindedness, detachment, or fear 😳
Winter is the most Yin time of the year but our culture makes it hard to slow down as our calendar isn’t in line with the seasons 🙃
New year’s resolutions may not feel natural to you and that’s ok! It’s fine not to be actioning loads atm 🦔
When Spring comes in March (the season of the Wood element) we’ll be more likely to feel like hopping forward and embracing Yang. We’ll probs want to do more things, make more changes, stretch and expand 🐰
For now, let’s glide along and try not to feel pressured. We’re all lil buds waiting to bloom 🌸
Sleep and eat well, keep cosy, get out in the sun when you can. Stay nourished and grounded, strengthening your roots ready for them to spread and grow when the time is right 🌱 xx
