Starting Monday 2nd March in the peaceful, lesser known Castle Woods, nestled in the heart of Helensburgh, we have our newest Woodland Wellbeing group. Our surveys told us that you would welcome a mixed gender group, that there was nothing like this for the men of the local area, and that you thought bringing the two sexes together could bring a new dynamic, beneficial to both. So far we only have female bookings...it is feedback time. Are there females out there who would like to join, but not a mixed group? Are there males out there feeling the same? Or are you sitting on the fence, unsure if it's really for you? Please drop us a message and let us know. We may adjust the nature of this offering if it is not hitting the mark, after all, ensuring that our sessions support those who need it most is a key priority for Woodlandwise.

Today we continued to explore the Five ways to Wellbeing as we:
☆Give - food for the birds
☆Take notice- sitting still in the birds hides we made, waiting, watching, listening
☆Learn- the names and identifying features of some birds we observed
☆Connect- with a friend as we play the stick game, moving as one, interpreting subltle ways of communicating
☆Active- enjoyed a woodland workout and worked with a friend to create some new cards of our own

Local School Nature Grants are back for 2026! 🥳 Supported by the People's Postcode Lottery, we're offering:

- Two hours of quality outdoor learning training for your staff;
- £500 worth of outdoor equipment for your school;
- A climate curriculum pack worth £150;
- A climate audit of your site; and more!

This is your chance to tell us how a grant would benefit your school or setting in your own words. Every single application is read by a member of LtL staff who is excited to hear about your site, your cohort, and your experiences, so don't hold back!

Applications are open to schools and early years settings in England, Scotland, and Wales until 13 March. If you've received a Local School Nature Grant in previous years, you're instead eligible for our LSNG XL programme, which offers up to 30 hours of CPD training, alongside equipment and resources!

Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to embed outdoor learning and play into the school day! Not sure where to begin? Take a look at our advice for writing a winning Local School Nature Grant application, plus a deep dive into the training available through the project. Good luck!
