We have mats, cushions and blankets, but depending on numbers, bring extra cushions as backup should you need them. We will be laying down the floor for 1.5 hours so be sure to bring anything to help with comfort should you need it.

We've had people bring along camping chairs and sun loungers before, so if you can't get up and down from the floor, bring something to sit on that allows you to sit back and relax in.

Camping mattresses are really handy, as well as sleeping bags for extra padding and comfort.

Feel free to get in touch if you're unsure of what to bring, I have 30 mats of my own and 11 big cushions and 20 blankets, but sometimes you may need extra, hence we ask to bring things along just in case.

𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙠?

For caldew hall in Silloth, you will need to park along the road as there isn't a carpark at this venue. There are plenty of spaces on the road to park, but please allow enough time to get here so you can park and walk to the hall. I can come out and find you if you're struggling to carry anything, or can't find the venue. The hall is very close to the Co-op, so if you find that, you're not far. It's across the road on the corner of a junction (looks like a school hall building)

For Armathwaite, the hall is next to the church in the village, and has a carpark around the back of it that's tucked away hidden. You can also park anywhere in the village or along the bridge past the Dukes Head Inn which is just a 2 minute walk away from the hall.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙄 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩?

For a sound bath, your experience will be different every time and won't be the same as another person. Where you're at in your life at the moment, your current state of mind, your past, your health etc... will all influence your journey. Don't have an expectation and just be open to the experience of sound waves, knowing that no matter what your thoughts, the vibrations will do their magic either way and heal your body, giving you a massage on a cellular level through sound frequencies, relaxing the tissue and cells and reducing any tension or inflammation and pain. The brain will not only feel an activation of energy, but it will also relax and calm down, and as a result, you may drift and not be aware of time. This is a sign you've reached a high state of relaxation, so enjoy it and surrender to the magic ✨

If this is calling out to you, perhaps our paths crossed at the right time 🦋 try it, don't worry too much about anything. If it's new to you, take a leap of faith and invest a small amount into something that may well just open a new door for you into a healing option you didn't know could work.

I look forward to seeing you, whoever you are, we're in this together 🙏🏻 let's all heal and feel better 😌

Who wants to try something very different to our usual yoga classes? 👀🤘🏻💪🏻 Friday 10th October 6-7pm Core & Arms workout with a yoga influence, but we will be doing it to rock music, metal and house classics.

You can also book this as part of your plans! Or book singly, just like you normally would for a yoga class (for those who have been to my classes before) if you're new, you can book on the website or get in touch with me at info@activateyoga.co.uk

Who is ready for this sort of energy?? I definitely am and I cannot wait!

These add-on workshops are trials to give people a taster of different classes, but once we establish what's popular and locations that work best for people, I can run them semi regularly at a venue that people vote for.

Let's get stronger! 😎

Wellness, yoga and sound healing at Watchtree Nature Reserve on Monday was deeply grounding and relaxing, I think we all needed a sleep after that woodland sound bath 😴 being outside with nature just adds to the atmosphere. Have a listen yourself, especially the video looking up to the trees with the subtle singing bowl in the background. Soooo peaceful 😌

Yoga last night with NADT YOUTH at the The Oval Centre was so dynamic with a little bit of everything, including some magical meditation for the relaxing bit at the end 💤

It's so interesting psychologically seeing how children respond to something they perhaps haven't tried before or not initially keen on. Some of the boys were reluctant to try yoga, but after seeing what we were actually doing, they started to join in and seemed surprised at how challenging some of the yoga was! And I managed to get them to calm down and relax during the Shavasana, something that always surprises the adults watching when they see how lively they were before 😆

The important thing here is we introduced and exposed the kids to something new (some had already done yoga with me previously) but the ones who think they wouldn't like it, actually ended up enjoying it.

The power of introducing children to new activities will open them up to trying something they may never have considered enjoying. It will build their confidence up and teach them a little more about themselves and encouraging an open-minded approach to live and other experiences.

This week's theme is all about opening up our Heart Chakra 💚

We will be focusing on stretching out the chest, upper back and shoulders through soft, Vinyasa style movements that promote a sense of "uplifting energy" and "self love"

Heart chakra yoga poses benefits 👇🏻

Release Tension: Counteracts the effects of poor posture and stress by opening the chest and stretching the muscles in the upper back and shoulders

Improves Posture: Strengthens the back muscles and expands the chest, allowing for deeper breathing and better spinal alignment

Massages the Organs: Gentle backbends can provide a gentle detoxification for internal organs

Emotional: Physically opening the heart space can help cultivate emotional feelings of openness, compassion, and vulnerability which is vital for releasing grief, trauma or holding back your feelings which can manifest in physical pain in the body

Reduces Stress: By releasing tension in the chest and body, heart openers can help to soothe the nervous system

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Take some time out to heal and reconnect with your higher self through mindful circle activities, gentle Vinyasa Yoga, a woodland walk followed by a picnic and a forest sound bath in the beautiful countryside of Armathwaite.

Reconnect with nature and heal your nervous system at this peaceful mini retreat in the beautiful village of Armathwaite whilst we connect and heal with nature with a forest sound bath just a short walk away from the hall.

There will be activities that bring a connection, make you laugh and let go of insecurities whilst building up trust.

The Old School Hall in Armathwaite is right next to the Christ and St Mary's Church on Front Street.

There is a small car park around the back of the hall - the entrance is very narrow and not ideal for large vehicles but fine for normal size / small cars. Alternatively, you can park along the road near the hall but please note: you park your car at your own risk. Please be sure to allow enough time before the retreat starts to park your car safely. You can also park on the bridge going over the River Eden near the Dukes Head Inn pub.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙?

Comfortable clothing for the yoga is important to allow free movement. Extra layers is also important to bring in case it's chilly outside (although we pray for sun!). If you need an inhaler, you must bring it to the retreat. If you take any medication during the day, please remember to bring it and inform us of any medical conditions when booking. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day (there will be drinking water and glasses at the hall but a bottle is less likely to spill fluid). For the walk, wear suitable walking shoes/boots and bring a raincoat and/or umbrella just in case it rains. You do need to bring your own packed lunch to this retreat, but there will be refreshments / hot drinks and snacks provided. I will supply the yoga mats and everything we need, however you are more than welcome to bring your own if you prefer. I will also supply waterproof blankets for laying down on for the outdoor sound bath to protect you from any damp on the ground. Bring warm clothing for the sound bath so you don't get cold - I have blankets you can also use for this.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😊

Hope to see you there 🙏🏻

Try a sound bath to bring balance to your mind and body 🧠 ✨ I invite you to embrace a new way of healing through sound where you can switch off your busy mind, calm down your nervous system and stimulate the cells in your body to heal whilst letting go of trapped emotions, grief and trauma so you can finally move forward with a sense of weight lifted from your shoulders.

For those who have booked or who are interested in this sort of event, read on for some vital information that will change your whole understanding of sound baths, as well as tips on feeling comfortable during the session.

𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚?

This Sunday's sound bath is at Currock Community Centre 5pm-6.30pm 🎶 and it's all about bringing balance to all Chakras in the body, from deep, rooted earth tones to high, angelic soft notes, bringing you an extremely powerful experience that takes meditation to a whole new level.

We have had an amazing response again of 33 people coming this Sunday, meaning there are just two spaces left for this complete chakra cleansing sound healing session ✨ there's still time to book www.activateyoga.co.uk/classes the price for this incredible experience is just £18

If you can't attend this Sunday's sound bath, there are three more this year on the website - be sure to book quick just so you don't miss out on a space as I hate it when people get excited to attend something that's full 😢

𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙤?

Currock Community Centre is on Lediard Avenue in Carlisle at the bottom of the road right where it joins onto Lund Crescent. It's a large building and you will see it has a big doorway with hedges all along the front of the building. As you're facing the building and that big doorway/arch, there is a large metal gate to the left of the building. Go through that gate, straight on through passed the bike sheds which will be on your left, then through the door ahead of you which will be open. When you go through the door, make your way off slightly ahead to your right opposite the toilets. The main hall is there but I will regularly be out guiding people.

You can park outside the hall along the road on Lediard avenue or, there is a carpark across the road on Lund Crescent. Keep going passed the hall on your left to the junction and it's on the other side of the road.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩

All you have to do is lay down with cushions, blankets, close your eyes and rest for a blissful 1.5 hours and let the healing frequencies do the rest 😌

Be open-minded about this experience and have no expectations, because everyone will have a different journey to one-another, and depending on your mental state, physical health, current situation in life, will greatly influence your journey. Sound waves from holistic instruments such as gongs, drums, crystal & Tibetan bowls, chimes and more, will be picked up by the receptors in your skin and channel through the body in a way that can promote physical healing and reduce tension and pain, sort of like a massage.

Sound healing can bring up trapped emotions, but this is an absolute necessary part of healing because we all know that holding in grief or pain can manifest in illness and physical pain in the body. Let your body and mind process the emotions and release them to feel a sense of freedom and harmony again.

It can also help with PTSD, anxiety, depression and anxiety overactive mind, especially if you have ADHD. The way the brain responds to sound frequencies is remarkable, and it can help calm the brain down and slow down your heart rate.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙄 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚

There are a couple of ways to feel comfortable at a sound bath as comfort is everything here. Bring a blanket (or a few!) cushions, and wear warm clothes and a mat if you have one. I do have mats for about 35 just at the hall but extra for some padding wouldn't hurt.

𝙏𝙞𝙥𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙮 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣:

Bring a camping chair with pillows that you can rest your head back on or a travel neck cushion

Bring a collapsible sun lounger if you don't like getting up and down off the floor

A camping mattress / small inflatable mattress is really good

Bring 2 maybe 3 bed pillows to lay underneath your head and spine and maybe a rolled up blanket for under the knees

Bring a sleeping bag if you get cold easily - these also work well as a small mattress to lay on

Sleep on your side or propped up against the wall with extra cushions for support if you're prone to falling asleep and snoring or have difficulty breathing

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤?

Make sure your phone is off or on silent (really important we don't disturb the atmosphere of the experience for others 😉)

Don't drink lots of water right before, and be sure to go to the toilet right before it starts (there are toilets at the hall)

Turn up at least 15 minutes before the event starts to allow you time to get settled and comfortable

Be sure to give plenty of notice if you can't attend so if we have any people on a waiting list, we have time to inform them

Drink plenty of water AFTER the sound bath and allow yourself time to process - don't rush off, take it slow and steady when leaving / driving home

The healing will continue on throughout your sleep and onto the next day within your body, so take it steady the next day as well

𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙩! 🤩

Plenty of information, but I think it's important new people know exactly what to do and expect as new activities like this can be daunting to some, so if you have any questions or if I've forgotten to cover anything, send me a message or comment before 👇🏻

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Yoga is for everyone no matter who you are. I like to inspire both those who have done Yoga, as well as those who are trying it for the first time. Let me show you how you can learn more about your body, what it can do, how it can be improved and most importantly, how you can feel better about yourself. From beginners to advanced, I can teach you the importance of body alignment, breathing, mindfulness, strength-training and cardio health.

What do you want to achieve?

  • Reduce joint pain, back problems, stiffness and tension

  • Increased muscle, stronger core and better cardio
