DEALING WITH UNCERTAINTY​​​​​​​​

How do you cope when feeling uncertain? Let us know below ⬇️​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Everything has felt so uncertain in my life of late, and I've been slipping into my old thoughts of helplessness and as though I can't control anything...so therefore want to control everything.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
However, I've found it much easier to stop falling too deep into these old stories because of the work I've done over the past couple of years.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Here is what has helped:​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
➑️Regular check ins: Asking myself how I am throughout the day, with the key focus on ACCEPTING and THANKING what is there. Set phone reminders or even put post it notes around the house to get into a habit of it.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
➑️Regular self-care: A routine of looking after myself, from walking and dancing to having a bath or journaling ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
➑️Grounding practices: getting into nature, grounding meditations and yoga​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
➑️Stillness: Allowing myself the time to be still and to give a chance for my inner guidance to come through ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
➑️ ACCEPTANCE: Deserves its own mention really, as quite often I don't achieve what I'd like to achieve with feeling overwhelmed, so accepting this with kindness is massive​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
My current mantra is:​​​​​​​​

I ACCEPT THE FLOW OF LIFE​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​

I'm taking a break from socials and pretty much everything for the next 4 days.

Life feels kinda uncertain and I can feel that need to control and knuckle through with fear kicking in, alongside lacking all motivation and inspiration.

So if you're feeling overwhelmed, physically or mentally fatigued, your anxiety is kicking in more quickly, or you're lacking energy, motivation or inspiration, then it may be time for you to take a break.

Taking a break looks different for us all, and we have to make it work around our own schedules.
So it could mean:

➑️Taking a nap when your baby is napping

➑️Taking an extra day or 2 off exercise

➑️Taking a social media or phone break

➑️Allowing yourself to sit and enjoy a brew without distractions or disturbances

➑️ Having a lie in

And something that Jill spoke about in the latest podcast episode really comes to mind here: we don't forget to look after ourselves, we NEGLECT to.

As a busy Mum she really explains the importance of self care and dealing with the guilt of taking this time to yourself, so do give it a listen (link in bio).

Ever bought something new or even moved somewhere new, only to find that over time, that initial happiness and fulfilment wore off?​​​​​​​​

Look, these things can bring us temporary happiness and excitement, and they can be a reflection of our inner world; our values, beliefs and priorities.​​​​​​​​

THE NATURE OF TIME

What one word would you use to describe how nature makes you feel? Comment below ⬇️

I've always felt really at peace in nature; it gets me out of my own head and those worries that I blew up in there just don't seem so bad anymore.

But for the last few years (pandemic aside), I stopped going out for regular hikes, convincing myself that I just didn't have the time for this.

πŸ‘‹ Hello anxiety

My daily walks to a little wood nearby just weren't cutting it, so I've pushed myself and my anxiety over the last few weeks, and headed out for a couple of hikes.

Both times I've been proper giddy; I've ran back down the fell, and jumped (/tentatively tiptoed) in a stupidly cold tarn.

And guess what? That extra energy and happiness has given me "more" time because I've filled up my cup β˜•

Time really is what you make of it. So don't neglect yourself in fear of there not being enough.
