1st outdoor race for 17 years - Cumbria County Championships.
Just making it to the line yesterday was a win in itself, I wasn't sure it was going be possible with how my health is right now, but I am a stubborn oaf and if there is even a glimmer of hope I'll take it.
I ran well in the 100m but it did feel a long way and took a lot out of me, which really should have made me rethink racing the 200m but like I said, I'm a stubborn oaf and even though I felt terrible I figured let's just have a shot and see what happens.
Cramp in both calves is what happened as soon as I pushed out of my blocks and all the way down the home straight, my energy was spent π€¦π»ββοΈ but hey ho if you don't push your limit then you don't find your limit. I certainly found it π
But I'm happy, I've got my first outdoor races done against the odds and come home with 2 golds and 2 championship records.
A really fun day spent with great people each with their own story of triumph over adversity. Sport really can be a lifeline π₯°
A big thanks also to all the officials who give up their time to make it all possible ππ½
