I use guided hypnosis suggestions, imagery, and therapeutic techniques to help you reframe unhelpful beliefs, break habits, or manage physical symptoms, like pain.

How does cupping therapy work? 🤔

Through a process called myofascial decompression. Cupping therapy uses negative pressure to pull tissue away from the body.

1. Fascia Release (Decompression)

The "fascia" is a web-like connective tissue. It wraps around every muscle and organ in your body. When it becomes tight or stuck (adhesions), it can cause pain and restricted movement.

The Suction Effect: As shown in the image, the vacuum inside the cup lifts the skin and superficial fascia. This lifting action creates "micro-separation" between the layers of your skin, fascia, and muscle. This "un-sticks" the tissues, allowing them to glide more freely and reducing tension.

2. Increased Blood Flow (Microcirculation)

The red and blue arrows in the diagram represent the movement of fluids.

Vasodilation: The suction causes tiny blood vessels to expand. This allows more oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood to reach the area to support cellular repair.

Waste Removal: Increased circulation also helps the lymphatic system flush out metabolic waste and inflammatory substances like lactic acid.

3. Neurological Pain Relief

While not explicitly labeled, the stretching of the skin and muscles sends signals to the brain.

Pain-Gate Theory: The intense sensation of suction can "distract" the nervous system, potentially blocking or overriding pain signals coming from deeper within the muscle.

Endorphin Release: The physical stimulation can trigger the body's natural "feel-good" chemicals to help dull chronic aches.
