With permission from the family, it is with great sadness we must announce to following,

Jos Hetherington passed away peacefully on Friday 27th March 2026. A very much loved wife and best friend of the late Ray, much loved and loving mum of Mark, Deb and Jayne. Also a dearly loved mother in law, grandma, great grandma and dearest sister of Doreen.
Jos will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.
Funeral service to be held at Carlisle Crematorium on Tuesday 7th April at 1-40pm
Family flowers only by request, donations in memory of Jos will go towards the continued work of the Eden Valley Hospice.

Frances Jane Foster passed away suddenly but peacefully at the Cumberland Infirmary on Friday 27th March, 2026.
Frances aged 86 years, much loved wife of the late Ged, a very much loved mam of Kathleen, Maureen and Wendy. A dearest mother in law and a very special grandma (Red Door) and great grandma. Also a dearest sister, sister in law and aunt.
Frances will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.

Mary Lamb aged 72 years, passed away at Kingston Court Care Home on Tuesday 24th March 2026.
A much loved wife of the late Christopher, a loving mum to Kerry and the late Graham. Devoted granny to Katelyn, Kai, Alesha and Brooke, also a much loved sister to David.
Mary will be very sadly missed by all her family and many friends
Funeral service to held at St. John’s the Evangelist, Crosby on Eden on Friday 10th April at 1pm followed by an interment in the Churchyard

Peacefully on Friday 20th March, 2026 at Eden Manor Care Home. Moira aged 94 years. A loving sister of Shirley, much loved aunt of Annette, Paul, Susan and Caroline. A dearest friend of Ingrid, Louise and Rose.
Moira will be sadly missed all her family and friends
Requiem Mass to be held at Our Lady and St. Joseph Church on Monday 13th April at 12 noon, followed by an interment in Carlisle Cemetery

Yesterday marked a very special milestone for us, 3 years of serving our community under the name Dawn Evans Funeral Director.
While our business name is still young, Dawn herself brings over 35 years of experience, dedication and compassion to every family we support. Over the past three years, it has been a true privilege to walk alongside so many families during some of life’s most difficult moments, providing care, guidance and dignity every step of the way.
We are incredibly grateful for the trust you have placed in us, and for the kindness and support shown by our local community. It means more than words can express.
As we look ahead, we are excited about what the future holds. We have new developments on the horizon that will allow us to care for your loved ones even more personally and to expand the services we offer to better meet your needs.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to be there when it matters most. We remain committed to supporting our community with the same compassion and professionalism for many years to come.

Maggie aged 73 years passed away at the Cumberland Infirmary on Wednesday 4th March 2026. A much loved wife of Jim, loving mam of Tracy, Mark, Michael and Kelly. Devoted nana of Becky, Nikki, Matthew, Danielle, Saskia, Rhianna, Nathan, Jack and Reece.
Granny to Noah, Alice and Wesley
Sadly missed by her four legged companion Sam.

William Grainger (Bill)
Passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Infirmary on Thursday 5th March 2026. Bill aged 85 years, a much loved husband of Pat, loving dad of Sara and the late Adrian. A special grandad to Patience and great-grandad to Nathaniel.
Bill will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends, especially his devoted four legged companions Milly and Maisy.

Peacefully on Wednesday 4th March 2026 at the Eden Valley Hospice, with his family by his side after a battle bravely borne. Robin aged 63 Years. Loving husband of Elaine, much loved dad of Stephen, a treasured grandad of Millie and Luna. A beloved son of the late Ray and Tony, also a dear brother, son-in-law, father-in-law, uncle, brother-in-law and a friend to many.

We had the honour of leading 2 angel baby services this week. There are no words that could ever feel enough at times like these, but it is a privilege to care for the smallest, most precious lives and to support their families with tenderness, dignity and love. Our thoughts are with those who are carrying unimaginable loss and we are grateful to have been trusted during such a deeply personal and heartbreaking time.
