We've been visiting local businesses across Carlisle as part of our Youth Mental Health project, to find out what people would say to their younger self.✨

Our hope is that these messages can help inspire and empower young people.

Thanks to the staff from Get-Modified in Carlisle for getting involved!

What would you tell your younger self?

You can send us your message by email to: info@healthwatchcumberland.co.uk

As part of our Youth Mental Health project, we've been asking people what message they would tell their younger self. We're hoping to help inspire young people by sharing perspectives from people who have grown and reflected on their experence as a young person.✨

We headed to Lush in Carlisle to find out what their staff had to say!

What would you tell your younger self?

We had a fantastic time at the Teens to 25 Young Mums event on Wednesday, organised by The Happy Mums Foundation.✨

We were joined by the lovely Kelsey from Healthwatch Westmorland and Furness, who got stuck in with the team in her new role as an Engagement Officer.

We heard from some young mums about their experiences of support and care during and after pregnancy.

If you're a young mum living in Cumberland, we would love to know about your experiences.

You can let us know your thoughts via email to: info@healthwatchcumberland.co.uk

Government plans to end the existence of an independent voice for patients and service users in health and social care have come under challenging scrutiny today with the publication of a major new report by the respected think tank, the King’s Fund.

Today’s King’s Fund Report “The Future of Patient Voice; Learning from the Healthwatch Model” underlines that a key strength of Healthwatch is its independence of the system, giving it credibility with the public.

Our Youth Mental Health project is looking at what young people need to R.I.S.E.

R.I.S.E stands for Resilience, Inspiration, Self-worth and Empowerment.

1. Choose a letter from R.I.S.E and take a photo that you feel represents its meaning to you. Maybe you felt inspired when you listened to your favourite music, or resilient when you went for a hike.

2. Send us your photo and a quote explaining it to info@healthwatchcumberland.co.uk by 30th June to be in with a chance of winning.

(Please DO NOT include anything identifiable or innapropriate in your photos.)

Yesterday, we went to the Teen to 25 Young Mums event at the People First Conference Centre in Carlisle, organised by The Happy Mums Foundation.❣️

The event provided an inviting and supportive space for young mums to connect with local organisations, support groups and other mums.

The Healthwatch Cumberland team went along to find out what local young mums think about the care they received during their pregnancy and after becoming a mum.
