Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice, formerly Eden House Children's Hospice, is the county's only children's hospice and offers support to children and young adults with life limiting illnesses. A special donation with local history... ✨

We're delighted to share that our Furniture Shop has received a very special item — the desk used by Andrew Jenkins, former Carlisle United Football Club chairman and co-owner. Can you imagine the decisions that were made over this desk? This beautiful piece of furniture has been used for over 50 years, making it a unique part of our community's story.

Huge thanks to the Jenkins family and the team at Pioneer Foodservice for this generous donation. Acts like this remind us how powerful a legacy can continue helping others.

"I never imagined myself taking on a skydive..." 🌟

Last year, our amazing receptionist Andrea stepped way outside her comfort zone and took the leap! Literally, 10,000ft up!

Andrea told us, "It was something completely out of my comfort zone, but that's exactly why I wanted to do it. It reminded me of just what we can achieve when we challenge ourselves. Knowing I was doing it to support the hospice made every moment even more meaningful. I did it, and I tell others that they can too!" 💙

Jigsaw is looking for a compassionate, creative and energetic Activities Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team. In this role, you're help create memorable experiences for the children and young people we support — through play, sensory sessions, arts and crafts, music, and so much more. Every day is different, and every moment makes a difference.

Winter can feel especially heavy when you're grieving. Shorter days, celebrations have quietened, and the start of a new year can bring a mix of emotions, which can make absence feel even more present.

At Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, our Living Well Services team are here to offer you support, whether your loss was recent or many years ago.

We have peer-support groups out in the community for those living with bereavement. There is no referral needed just come along and meet new people who have similar experiences.

Jigsaw is the children’s hospice for Cumbria. From Workington to Appleby, Barrow-in-Furness to Carlisle, Jigsaw provides unique care and support to children and young adults with life limiting illnesses.

Our dedicated team of trained and highly skilled nurses, health care assistants and activity co-ordinators provide the individualised, complex nursing and therapeutic support each child and young adult needs - giving them the chance to have the childhood experiences we would all want for our own children.

Jigsaw’s care is offered for free and without obligation.
