Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice provides care for adults in the local area and children across Cumbria with life limiting illnesses. The hospice has a 12 bed adult in-patient unit with eight single en-suite rooms and a four bed room. The home from home environment creates a relaxing atmosphere for patients and families with each room overlooking the recently transformed walled garden. The Day Hospice provides care for up to 15 people a day, four days a week. Most days the sweet smell of freshly baked cakes fills the Day Hospice as patients, nurses and volunteers exchange stories about what has happened since they last met. Jigsaw provides care and support for children and young adults from throughout Cumbria. Every day, Jigsaw is filled with laughter and enjoyment as children and young adults take part in a wide range of colourful, creative and sensory activities. The annual cost of providing our services is over £3million, with only 27% received from the NHS. The kindness and generosity of the local community raises over £2million each year through fundraising events, collection boxes, legacies and much more.

Thank you to Christine, Louise, Pat, Julie and Yen, every minute, every hour given is an act of kindness that makes a big difference.
Café volunteers play an important role as the funds generated are reinvested back into the hospice, every coffee served helps us to continue to provide specialist hospice care.

Light Up a Life Hospice Christmas Light Switch-on—Sunday 23rd November 🌟
We can't wait for you to join us at the hospice as we come together to remember loved ones and switch on our Christmas lights.
The service starts at 4:30pm and there is still time to get your dedication to us to be placed on our Light Up a Life tree in the main reception in time for the day.

Whether you’re a school, nursery, or sports team, you are welcome to take part.
You choose the activity—it could be a winter walk around the village or a Christmas-themed dash through the snow. 🎿 We supply an antler headband and sponsor form for each child, then it’s time for your little reindeer to don their antlers, have fun, and raise vital funds for their local hospice.

This December, we’re calling on local businesses — big and small — to come together for a month of festive, feel-good fundraising in support of Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children’s Hospice.
Every year, we’re blown away by the creativity and generosity of our corporate supporters during the Christmas season — and we know this year will be no different. Whether it’s a Christmas jumper day, a bake-off, a mince pie morning, or something completely unique, your festive fundraising helps bring comfort, care, and joy to local families.
No matter your team size — two or 200 —your workplace can help make a real difference to local families facing life-limiting illness.

⭐ We have had two Lodgepole Pines and two Norway Spruce trees delivered. We're so grateful for their support in making the hospice beautifully festive—creating magical moments for patients, families, and staff this Christmas.

Our Family Support Team:
Provides help and support to our patients, their families and their carers. They help to manage the challenges in front of many families, and help them to feel more resilient and able to face the future with courage, all in the strictest of confidence.
